Together with the end of the week, we again bring you a summary of the most interesting speculations that have appeared in connection with Apple. This time it is about the interestingly presented Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, the future of mini-LED displays in Apple products and biometric functions for future AirPods.

Magic Keyboard for iPad with Apple Pencil slot

Keyboard Magic Keyboard for iPad shortly after its launch, it met with a relatively positive response from users who praise its design, functions and the presence of a trackpad. However, some users complained that Apple did not think about the efficient placement of the Apple Pencil when designing this keyboard. Many people use the iPad for creative work, and the Apple Pencil is an indispensable assistant for them - so it is understandable that these users would welcome a place on the keyboard to put the Apple Pencil. However, a recently registered patent suggests that future generations of keyboards for iPads could also receive this accessory. In the future, the space for the Apple Pencil could be located between the hinges that attach the keyboard to the tablet. Whether Apple will actually put this patent into practice is still a mystery.

iPads and Macs with mini-LED displays

Speculations have been circulating on the Internet for some time that future products from Apple could receive displays with mini-LED backlighting. In this context, there is talk, for example, of a 12,9-inch iPad Pro, a 27-inch IMac or a 16-inch MacBook Pro - all of these innovations should be presented by the company in the course of next year. This theory was also confirmed last week by the analyst of the Chinese company GF Securities Jeff Pu. The well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also shares the same opinion, according to which the large-scale production of the relevant components should be started in the last quarter of this year, with the fact that some products with mini-LED displays could not be released until next year. According to available reports, Apple has invested more than $300 million in a Taiwanese factory that should be used to produce mini-LED and micro-LED displays for its future products.

AirPods and biometric features

Apple has long been trying to ensure that its Apple Watch represents the greatest possible benefit to human health. In addition to smart watches, wireless AirPods could also serve a similar purpose in the future. It has been speculated for a long time that AirPods could be equipped with sensors for monitoring certain health functions. Server iMore reported this week that the headphones could be equipped with Ambient Light Sensors (ALS) in the future. AirPods could expect these in the next two years, and the mentioned sensors could, among other things, be used to measure heart rate, temperature and other parameters. Wearable electronics are an ideal tool for measuring biometric functions – the relevant sensors often require direct contact with the wearer's skin. However, the server did not specify in any way how it would be possible to measure the user's heart rate through ambient light sensors.
