After a week, on the website of Jablíčkára, we are again bringing you an overview of the news that appeared in connection with the Apple company during the past week. For example, we will talk about the burning iPhone 15 Pro or the fact that WhatsApp for macOS appeared in the Mac App Store.

"Urban" AirTags

Apple's AirTag locators are very popular among users, and it's no wonder. They can effectively help with the localization and search of a lost or stolen object. Last week, Washington DC Mayor Muriel Browser introduced a program in which the city will give residents of selected neighborhoods free AirTags for their cars. AirTags will be distributed to residents in neighborhoods with a higher incidence of car theft, and with their help, it should be possible to find a car more easily in the event of a theft in cooperation with the local police.

WhatsApp for Mac on the App Store

In the course of the past week, the WhatsApp application appeared in the Mac App Store in a version for the macOS operating system. As such, WhatsApp Pro Mac is nothing new, but until now users could only download it from the official website. At the same time, many users have a problem with downloading applications outside the App Store, even when it is a reliable, official, verified source. Of course, WhatsApp from the App Store is no different from WhatsApp, which can be downloaded from the official website - Meta, the company that operates WhatsApp, is simply trying to accommodate users who are afraid to download applications from other sources.

iPhone 15 Pro on fire

On Reddit an interesting and alarming post appeared in the past week. One of the contributors there described his experience when he was awakened from sleep by the smell of burning. The source of the smell was his iPhone 15 Pro, which the person had left charging overnight. It is not clear from the person's posts what charging accessories he used - sometimes these problems can occur when using inappropriate, often uncertified accessories. However, he stated that he brought the burned iPhone to the Apple Store. He was promised a replacement of the device, the victim allegedly uses the same charger to charge the temporarily borrowed iPhone.
