Increased interest in AirTags

Apple's AirTag location tags will celebrate two years of existence this year. It certainly cannot be said that customers do not care about them, but it was only this year that interest in AirTags began to rise significantly. The reason will probably be clear to everyone. It is only recently that the various measures that were introduced years ago in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly limited travel, are beginning to be properly relaxed. And it is travel that many people are now buying an AirTag for. With its help, luggage can be effectively looked after and monitored, and air transport AirTag has proven itself more than once.

Another lawsuit with the creators of Fortnite

The dispute between Apple and the creators of the popular game Fortnite has been going on for several years. At issue was Epic's disagreement with the 30% commission that Apple charged for in-app purchases — that is, Epic adding its own payment method to Fortnite in violation of the App Store's rules. Two years ago, the court proposed an opinion according to which the Cupertino company did not violate antitrust laws, and this opinion was confirmed by the appeals court this week.

Satellite calling saves lives

The satellite call feature, introduced last year, is meant to be used in cases where an iPhone owner needs to call for help, but is in an area with insufficient cellular signal coverage. In the week, there was a report in the media that this feature successfully saved the lives of three young men. While exploring one of the canyons in Utah, they got stuck in a place from which they could not get out and found themselves in danger of their lives. Fortunately, one of them had an iPhone 14 with him, with the help of which he called the emergency services via the aforementioned satellite call.
