We bring you another part of a regular summary of news that appeared in the media in connection with Apple during the past week. For example, we will talk about another lawsuit aimed at Apple, but also about an unusual bug, in which some users are shown foreign photos and videos in iCloud on Windows.

Apple in court in Great Britain

According to the latest reports, it looks like all sorts of lawsuits are starting to come against Apple from all over again. One of the most recent was filed in Great Britain, and it concerns Apple not allowing the placement of applications for so-called cloud gaming in its App Store. Another problem is the requirements that Apple places on mobile web browser developers as part of the placement in the App Store. At first glance, it might seem that practically any mobile web browser can find itself in the App Store. But the mentioned lawsuit says that only those browsers that use the WebKit tool are de facto allowed. However, both this condition and the ban on the placement of applications for cloud gaming are contrary to antitrust regulations, and Apple thus puts itself in an indisputably more advantageous situation. At this point, an investigation by the UK's antitrust authority, the CMA, should be launched in order to gather sufficient evidence.

Unrest in the factory

Chinese factories, where, among other things, components for some Apple devices are also produced, it would probably be difficult to unequivocally describe them as problem-free workplaces. There are often demanding and inhumane conditions, which are repeatedly pointed out not only by human rights activist groups. The situation in the factories is complicated by both the repeated occurrence of coronavirus infections and the current demands associated with the approaching Christmas holidays.

It was in connection with the covid measures that another riot broke out in one of the Foxconn factories. After the zero-tolerance facility was closed, an employee revolt broke out. A number of people are fleeing their workplace in panic to avoid an involuntary quarantine with an unclear end.

The rebellion has great potential to significantly influence the production and subsequent deliveries of not only this year's iPhone models. Conditions in the factories are still not improving, rather the opposite, and at the moment there are interruptions in production due to employee protests. According to the latest news, although Foxconn has apologized to the striking workers, the improvement of working conditions is still in the stars.

Other people's photos on iCloud

According to its own words, Apple has long been committed to keeping its users' data as safe as possible. But according to the latest news, things are not going well on at least one front. The problem lies in the Windows version of the iCloud platform. Over the past week, iPhone 13 Pro and 14 Pro owners have started reporting issues with iCloud syncing for Windows, with the aforementioned videos being corrupted and corrupted. In addition, for some users, when transferring media to iCloud in Windows, videos and photos of completely unknown users began to appear on their computers. At the time of writing this article, Apple has not yet made an official statement on the matter, and there was no known clear solution to this problem.
