After a week, on the pages of our magazine, we again bring you a summary of the events that took place in connection with Apple in the past few days. This time, for example, it will be about the fact that Apple stopped signing the iOS 17.1 operating system, about saving a human life thanks to the Apple Watch, or about the embarrassing Christmas Apple advertisement.

Apple has stopped signing iOS 17.1

As expected, Apple ended the signing of iOS 17.1.1 over the past week, which means that users cannot downgrade to this version of the iOS operating system. Apple explains this step with security reasons. Older versions of the operating system may contain security flaws that could be exploited by attackers. iOS 17.1.1 brings several important bug fixes, including a fix for the weather widget bug and wireless charging issues in BMW cars. However, some users are experiencing issues with iOS 17.1.1 including reduced battery life. In case of problems with iOS 17.1. 1 users are advised to downgrade to iOS 17.1.

Apple Watch again in the role of life saver

In the course of the past week, the news appeared in the media that the smart watch from Apple once again claimed another credit for saving a human life. This time it was artist and cyclist Bob Itcher, who one day decided to train at home on his exercise bike. During the ride, he noticed that his heart rate was unusually high, which he initially attributed to a bug with the Apple Watch. But in the following days, his health began to deteriorate, and Itcher decided to see a doctor. He diagnosed an enlarged aorta, and surgery saved Itcher's life.

Controversial Christmas ad

In the past, Apple was famous for its Christmas ads, which often did not lack a meaningful story, catchy music and pleasant, typically festive visuals. In recent years, however, the Cupertino company has often received more criticism for its advertisements. It already happened in the past that Apple released its Christmas commercial, which almost no one noticed, because the spot looked anything but Christmassy. A lot of people are impatiently waiting for Apple's Christmas commercial this year as well, and this year too, many are in doubt whether the Christmas commercial is by chance already out. Apple has released an advertising spot, which at first glance doesn't look like Christmas, but you can track down the Christmas melody in it. But the spot is embarrassing - after all, see for yourself.
