Today's overview of the events that took place in relation to Apple during the past week does not look very positive. We will talk about how the iOS 16.4 operating system negatively affects the life of iPhones, layoffs among the company's employees, or the repeatedly non-working native Weather.

iOS 16.4 and the deterioration of the endurance of iPhones

With the arrival of new versions of operating systems from Apple, there are often not only various new functions and improvements, but sometimes also errors and complications. In the course of the past week, there have been reports proving that the endurance of iPhones has deteriorated after the transition to the iOS 16.4 operating system. YouTube channel iAppleBytes tested the effect of the update on the battery life of the iPhone 8, SE 2020, XR, 11, 12 and 13. All models experienced a deterioration in battery life, with the iPhone 8 performing the best and the iPhone 13 the worst.

Personnel purges at Apple

In our summaries of events related to Apple, we have repeatedly written about the fact that, despite the crisis in the company itself, there are no layoffs yet. Until now, Apple has followed the path of hiring freezes, reducing the number of external employees and other such steps. However, the Bloomberg agency reported this week that layoffs are also planned at Apple. It should affect the workers of the company's retail stores. However, according to available information, Apple should try to keep layoffs to a minimum.

Still not working Weather

Owners of Apple devices already had to deal with the non-functionality of the native Weather application the week before last. The error was initially fixed for a few hours, but at the beginning of the week, user complaints about Weather not working began to multiply again, and the scenario was repeated with a fix, which, however, only had an effect of a few hours. Among the problems that native Weather showed were incorrect display of information, widgets, or repeated loading of the forecast for specific locations.
