There will also be nudity in the iPad version of the game Papers, Please (12/12)

Papers, Please is already a legendary puzzle game that came from PC to iPad about a week ago. In it, the player controls the immigration inspector of the totalitarian state Arstotzka, whose task is to check the documents of the arrivals and detect any unwanted visits to the country. One of the inspection tools is a scanner depicting naked figures. That's how it is in the PC and game console versions, and it should have been that way in the long-awaited iPad port as well.

Apple, which doesn't want any hints of pornography in the App Store, didn't like that at all. The creator of the game, Lucas Pope, first mentioned that Apple asked him (or gave him no other choice by disapproving) to remove nudity from the game, saying that it was "pornographic content". A few days later, however, Pope announced on Twitter that in the next update, nude in-game character images will be returned to Papers, Please, with the fact that their display can be turned off and will be off by default. They say it was a misunderstanding on the part of Apple.

Twitter and Foursquare are preparing a partnership (17.)

Twitter and Foursquare are planning to, according to magazine reports Business Insider a partnership that will allow Twitter to introduce various local features to its microblogging network. The company behind the social location network Foursquare would certainly benefit from that kind of close collaboration. Since its inception, it has been searching in vain for a reliable and sustainable business plan, thanks to which money would flow into the company for operation and further development.

They would certainly welcome a long-term partnership with a company of such fame and size in Foursquare. It should be noted, however, that even Twitter is not exactly financially broke. His income is growing regularly thanks to advertising, but the company still hasn't managed to break even. In the third quarter of this year, Twitter announced a loss of 175 million dollars.

Widget returns to Drafts (17/12)

Perhaps all too often recently, information has surfaced suggesting that Apple is not familiar with its own app approval rules. This time, the removal of the widget from the note-taking app Drafts has been reversed.

The problem was the presence of a button that opened the app and created a new note. Developer Greg Pierce said on Twitter that according to Apple, widgets in iOS are only meant to display information. For example, Evernote has had the same function since the launch of iOS 8 and has not faced a similar problem.

The Drafts of the Week app has been released in a new version, 4.0.6, which brings back the widget and adds a new function to display the last notes created. The application also learned to create new documents from the selected text.

Stronghold Kingdoms Releases for Mac (18/12)

Firefly's Stronghold Kingdoms is a prototypical strategy game. It takes place in the Middle Ages, it is about building a village, a castle, an army and fighting for power and a place in the world. Its most important feature, however, is the need to be connected to the Internet, which opens the player access to a vast world with thousands of kingdoms of real opponents or allies.

[youtube id=”O2n0-r5fNqU#t=35″ width=”600″ height=”350″]

The basic framework of the game otherwise differs from the competition rather in nuances, such as the discovery of new technologies and their implementation into the hierarchy of the village or city.

Stronghold Kingdoms will also be free to play. It should be released around January 13 next year.

An episodic game series based on Minecraft is coming next year (18/12)

Much to everyone's surprise this week, developer studio Telltale Games announced that they will be teaming up with Mojang, the developers behind the popular Minecraft. The result will be the episodic game series Minecraft: Story Mode, which will see the light of day already next year.

According to Telltale Games, the game will take place in the world of Minecraft and will have its own story, which will be significantly influenced by the player's decisions. It will not be an addition to the current Minecraft, but a separate game that will arrive in 2015 on consoles, computers and mobile devices. The creators will try to mix the familiar world and motifs with completely new characters and heroes.

The Telltale Games studio already has two episodic game series based on famous original titles in its portfolio. The first of them is Game of Thrones, then the other one Tales from the Borderlands. In its own statement, Mojang confirmed, among other things, that the upcoming game will arrive on iOS and Mac, among others.

Sharing options are available by clicking the arrow in the lower left corner of the screen. Discovering new content is also easier. The Foursquare app has arrived on the iPad

Until now, the Foursquare application was only available for the iPhone, so iPad users had to make do with the web version. Since Foursquare has essentially become a Yelp alternative after being spun off as a place-checking app, and primarily for discovering new places, virtually viewing and rating them, a native iPad app is definitely a welcome addition. The user can finally browse the businesses they visit in the evening more comfortably from the comfort of the couch, on the large and clear iPad display.

Instagram got new filters

Although Instagram is currently something significantly different from what it was originally and the filters for it are not as defining as before, the enrichment of the offer is still a significant novelty. In the words of the creators:

"Inspired by the photography, art, fashion and design of the global Instagram community, we're adding five new filters that we believe are our best yet."

The new filters are called Slumber, Crema, Ludwig, Aden and Perpetua. Their effect is rather subtle, they affect the color and sharpness of the photo.

Other new features include the ability to record slow-motion video, adjust perspective, and display real-time comments. The display of filters is also changed. So far, the demos have been applied to an image of a hot air balloon. Blurred previews of edited photos are now displayed overlaid with the initial letter of the filter name. In addition, there is a "manage" button at the end of their list, allowing you to change their order or hide the ones you don't use

Route lengths are now calculated even more precisely, because they work with a larger amount of data about the traffic situation, on which the calculation of alternative routes also depends. UI tweaks include an easier way to send ETA messages and automatic switching between 2D and 3D map views.

Pixelmator for Mac has received a number of improvements

It took a long time, but Pixelmator finally learned to make better use of the pinch-to-zoom gesture. The panels for shapes, gradients and styles can then be resized and scrolled through. These are basically the only two new features brought by the update. The others are primarily bug fixes and improvements to the application's performance.

The most important fixes include adding missing sliders, fixing control-click (ctrl), double-tapping the topbar to minimize, etc. Palette resizing is now much smoother and faster, as is image zooming. Work with the magic wand (Magic Wand) and paint bucket (Paint Bucket) has also been speeded up.

Pixelmator has also been stuck on several crucial operations so far. The application crash was eliminated when exporting to JPEG and PNG format, copying, inserting groups of layers with a profile other than RGB and when working with Automator, etc.

After all, Apple itself was inspired by the application when developing iOS 7. The interface includes not only beautiful pictures of cities, but rich animations of fog, rain, heat and snow. Lightning and frost animations have now been added to those with the update. The design for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus has also been modified so that the application makes the best use of the larger display areas.

The Grids Mac app for viewing Instagram has received a major update

The Grids app for Mac is very popular among Instagram users. This allows you to browse this photo-social network in a very elegant way directly on the Mac monitor. Now, Grids for Mac is coming with a big update to version 2.0, bringing several new features and improvements that users have been clamoring for.

The first big news is the support of multiple accounts that the user can switch between. There are also 3 new window layouts and new shortcuts and new gestures have also been added to make viewing posts even more enjoyable. Deezer will now show you the lyrics of the song being played on iOS

The mobile application of the music streaming service Deezer has received an interesting function. When playing music, you will now be able to read the lyrics of the song you are listening to directly in the application. The new feature was able to appear in the Deezer app thanks to a partnership with the LyricFind service and can be used by non-paying users and subscribers.

A similar feature has been available in rival Spotify's desktop app for a long time. It is possible to simply install an extension from the company MusiXmatch. However, Deezer is the first to offer something similar in a mobile app, and natively at that.
