Adobe Lightroom is coming to iOS, but it's not clear when (17/1)

It's no secret that Adobe has plans to bring its professional photography software to mobile devices. In connection with some information leaks on the Adobe website and increasingly frequent discussions about the expected Lightroom, the company decided to comment on the situation officially. However, the statement contains only blunt and meaningless information.

However, thanks to the inattention of one of the employees, it was possible to read on the mentioned website that Lightroom for iOS will indeed be available for a fee of $99 per year. Mobile Lightroom will be able to edit photos in various RAW formats and will also offer synchronization via iCloud with the iPad or desktop version.

Americans Can Use Beats Music's New Streaming Service (21/1)

The new Beats Music streaming service has finally arrived in the US market after its introduction in October. The competition for Spotify, Rdio or Deezer is growing again. Of course, the service has its iPhone app, which puts a lot of emphasis on customization options and tries to offer something extra over its many competitors.

Beats Music asks its user what he's doing, how he's feeling, who he's with, and what genre of music he likes. It then compiles a playlist according to these criteria. The last answer seems to have the greatest influence on the selection of songs for the list, and the previous three are more of a "cool" addition. Of course, you can also play directly based on the genre, get inspiration from your friends' playlists or directly from various music experts.

Currently, Beats Music is a purely American affair, and users in the rest of the world are out of luck. Another negative of the application is that after the seven-day trial period has expired, it is no longer possible to use the service to its full potential. Unlike Spotify, Rdio or iTunes Match, Beats Music does not have a free version with ads.

The Stratus MFI gaming controller is ultimately cheaper. You can buy immediately. (January 23)

SteelSeries has announced that its Stratus MFI gaming controller will eventually be sold at a lower price than originally planned. Instead of the $99,99 price tag that the controllers carried in pre-sale, this gaming hardware will be available for purchase for $79,99. The good news is that the controller is already available in brick-and-mortar Apple Stores as well as in the official Apple online store.

This price change makes the Stratus MFI controller the cheapest item of its kind, as competitors Logitech and Moga both cost the same $99,99. The speculation that the price of the controller is dictated by Apple and all products of this kind will therefore be at the same price was basically refuted.

New applications

Extreme Demolition

A new game in the style of typical demolition derbies has arrived in the App Store. It is a game called Extreme Demolition, and it was created by the Czech developer Jindřich Regál. The game was released on the market last year, but only in the Android version. However, it was a success on this platform (1,7 million downloads), so after a while it also reaches iPhone and iPad.

The game is free and contains only minor in-app purchase transactions that make the game easier to play. However, these microtransactions serve more as support for the developers and are not necessary for completion. There is a Lan multiplayer that also works cross-platform.

MailPilot

Mail Pilot for Mac has been in public beta for a while, and this week it hit the Mac App Store in a crisp, stable version. Currently available for purchase at an introductory price of €8,99. Mail Pilot is a great alternative email client that is partially inspired by Airmail, for example, but is more complex and advanced. It contains its own to-do list and thus enables easier organization of tasks associated with emails.

Mail Pilot supports many types of email accounts including the most popular ones. In the menu you can find, for example, iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Rackspace or Outlook.com. Another advantage is the fact that mail is not stored on any 3rd party server, which is only good for your own privacy and security.

Sport.cz

The sports portal Sport.cz came up with an official application for the iPhone. This is a very good tool for all sports lovers and, in Czech conditions, a truly unique application. The user can choose the sports and competitions he is interested in, and the news about them is then displayed on the Main page. In addition, the user can manually browse individual sections, play videos in articles, and the like. The application is also used to monitor sports results, and push notifications will even alert you to important moments from the match.

Important update

calendars 5.3

Calendars 5 comes with the biggest update since its launch in September last year. Version 5.3 brings several new features and the update is primarily focused on teamwork. You can now invite your contacts to individual meetings directly by entering the event. Calendars 5 have the ability to enter events in natural language, which is also suitable for this new feature. For example, just write Meet [name] and you can immediately send an invitation to the person.

Another added function is the possibility of importing ICS files that you receive by e-mail, for example. The aforementioned invitations are cleverly integrated into the Notification Center, so you don't have to worry about missing anything. The iPhone notifies you and displays the invitation on the display, where you can quickly accept or reject it.

Omnifocus for iPhone 2.1

The latest update for OmniFocus for iPhone brings a number of new language localizations, search improvements, and bug fixes. OmniFocus can now speak Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. When searching, users with iPhone 5 and later will be pleasantly surprised to find that OmniFocus searches as they type. Added swipe gesture to move back. Also new is a built-in bug and crash report to help developers further improve the app.
