Minecraft creator releases Scrolls for iPad (23/9)

Mojang, the company behind the development of Minecraft, allowed players to test the new Scrolls on OS X and Windows some time ago. It is quite different from Minecraft. Its basic principle is relatively easy to understand from the attached video - it is basically a virtual, adequate animated form of card games like Magic: The Gathering.

Currently, the price of Scrolls is set at twenty dollars, but this price is to be significantly reduced to five dollars with the arrival of the game on the iPad in "late autumn". The reason is to make the news available to more players and the reluctance to make the game experience unpleasant by adopting the so-called freemium model. For those who have already paid $20 for Scrolls, Mojang will offer $20 worth of in-game Shards.

Angry Birds Transformers coming soon to the App Store (September 25)

The new Angry Birds again departs from the original concept, although not nearly as much as Angry Birds Epic or Go!. From the latter, the new Transformers borrows 3D graphics and platform display from the original Angry Birds. The player will control a transforming angry bird, move through the game environment rich in enemies to shoot down with various weapons.

Asphalt Overdrive – another continuation of the racing series

A new title from the Asphalt series of car racing games is available on the AppStore. It has in common with the original series high-quality graphics (this time tuned to the neon 80s), an abundance of expensive sports cars and an emphasis on the player's perception when driving quickly through the race track. In the news, it becomes a city full of police cars and the player sees it in a vertical position. [youtube id=”8n16cBqpCso” width=”600″ height=”350″]

The game is not controlled by tilting the device, but by swiping right and left to move between the three lanes. Asphalt Overdrive is actually an endless running game, but with cars. However, the elements typical of the career mode have not completely disappeared. The player gradually gains access to other cars and their modification options.

Asphalt Overdrive is available in App Store for free with in-app purchases.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is coming to Mac

This spin-off takes place in the world of the Metal Gear series. But they change the silent and unobserved agent into a sword-wielding cyborg ninja, Raiden. In the words of the publisher, the game is presented as follows:

"The game naturally blends pure action and cinematic storytelling surrounding Raiden, a child soldier transformed into a half-human, half-robotic ninja who uses the high-frequency blade of his katana to slice through anything that stands in his way for revenge."

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is available on the Mac App Store for 21 euros and 99 cents and on Steam for $24. This price will increase to $1 five days after the start of sales (October 30).

Important update

Camera +

The popular camera app Camera+ has received a big and important update. The new version, marked 6.0, is fully adapted to iOS 8, which at the same time means that it will not work with any of the older operating systems. Among other things, the update added to the app the ability to manually adjust focus and exposure, a better macro mode, and the ability to use the app as an extension of native Pictures.

Camera+ 6.0 is a free update available now in the App Store. If you don't have this excellent application on your iPhone yet, you can get it for a nice price €1,79 in the App Store.

Chrome for iOS

Google released an update for its popular mobile web browser Chrome this week. Its universal version for both iPhone and iPad received support for a new iOS 8 feature called App Extensions. This means that Chrome will now offer the actions of various third-party apps when you press the share button, just like Safari can do in iOS 8.

The crazy-labeled version 37.0.2062.60 of Chrome also adds full iOS 8 support, app stability improvements, and bug fixes. The update is available classically in the App Store and of course it's free.

Skype or Whatsapp

Microsoft recently promised that Skype for iPhone would have its full attention and give this communication app the care it deserves. So far, it looks like Redmond meant their word, and mobile Skype has really been booming in recent months. The proof is also the latest update, which adapts the application to the new iOS 8. However, for now, it does not bring any special adaptation to the new larger iPhones 6 and 6 Plus, so if you use Skype on these phones, the application will only be enlarged to cover the entire screen.

Despite this, the update is a nice improvement and Skype will now offer, for example, interactive notifications, thanks to which you will be able to reply to messages directly from the notification banner. In addition, the new Skype notifications will also offer various actions. You will be able to simply accept or reject a voice call, choose between a voice or video response to a video call, and respond to a missed call with a text message or a quick call back.

The buttons for these actions appear when you swipe left after a notification on the lock screen. In the same way, notifications also work in the notification center. The warning banner also received expanded options. Download Skype to your iPhone for free from App Store.

twitterrific 5

One of the best Twitter clients, Twitterrific 5, has also received new improvements. It now brings support for iOS 8 and adaptation to the larger displays of iPhones 6 and 6 Plus. One of the biggest innovations is the integration of the 1Password extension. So, if you are using this password manager, you will be able to handle login in Twitterrific 5 easily with this application.

In addition, version 5.7.6 will also offer improved zooming of viewed photos, various fixes, acceleration and stability improvements of the application. The update is free, as well as the application itself. However, if you do not have the application yet and are considering downloading it, it is necessary to point out that for its full functionality it is necessary to slightly upgrade it using in-app purchases. Some time ago, Twitterrific switched to a business model called freemium.
