Path Social Network Introduces Premium Paid Accounts (5/9)

The relatively successful mobile social network Path, which currently has over 20 million users, is coming with a subscription for premium features, although it will continue to be free as before. With the subscription, users get access to 30 packs of "stickers" that they can use in both conversations and comments, which helped to increase the number of comments on the network by 25 percent. According to the creators, the subscription is a way to keep the service ad-free. Subscribers will also have access to photo filters that they can use to share images on the network. A subscription costs $14,99 per year or $4,99 for three months. In addition to subscriptions, the new Path update also brought the ability to share posts with only a limited circle of people, similar to what Google+ does.

Apple prevents Omni Group from offering discounted prices to customers on the Mac App Store (5/9)

Last week, developer Omni Group, the creators of OmniFocus, OmniGraffle and others, released OmniKeyMaster, an app that allowed it to detect whether a user had purchased any of the company's apps on the Mac App Store, so it could offer them a discount on updates through its own online store . In this way, they were able to bypass the impossibility of offering paid updates in the App Store or the possibility of a discount when buying a new version.

However, less than a week after its release, OmniKeyMaster is being discontinued because Apple says it violated the Mac App Store rules. It appears to have forced the developer to pull the app, leaving Mac App Store customers with the only option to save money on newer versions. We can only hope that Apple will eventually come up with its own solution that would be welcomed by both developers and users.

Iron Man's Jarvis Comes to iOS (6/9)

Siri may be interesting technology, but it's nothing against Jarvis, the British-accented AI that's part of Iron Man's suit. On September 10, you'll be able to have it on your iPhone, sort of. Jarvis is a new app from Marvel released to mark the release of Iron Man 3 on DVD and Blu-Ray. Similar to Siri, the application can be controlled by voice commands. It can, for example, download ringtones, send messages to Facebook, set an alarm clock, report the current weather or even control a Blu-Ray player if it is on the same network. In addition, you will also be able to view all 42 unique Iron Man suits of Tony Stark in the application.

BlackBerry Messenger for iOS has already been submitted for approval (6/9)

BlackBerry Messenger was submitted to the App Store for approval two weeks ago, which means it should be available to iOS users very soon. This is not just a guess, but a credible report, as this news was released directly by BlackBerry's head of social media, Alex Kinsella.

BBM is a communication service similar to Apple's iMessage. At the time of its creation, it was one of the very first services of its kind and currently has around 60 million active users. For a long time, BBM was used exclusively on BlackBerry phones, but this May, the arrival of this capable messenger was announced for the two most successful operating systems today - Android and iOS. Beta testers started testing BBM at the beginning of August.

Two weeks ago, a user guide was published that describes how the app works, what features it has, and how to create a new account in it. So it was assumed that the application would soon see the light of day, but it hasn't happened yet. With this application, BlackBerry is entering a very tough competition. On iOS, the already mentioned iMesagge is very popular, but also many different third-party applications, of which it is worth mentioning, for example Viber, Whatsapp or Hangouts.

Call of Duty: The Strike Team

Activision has unexpectedly released a new title, Call of Duty: Strike Team, available exclusively on mobile platforms. It is a rather rare combination of a first-person shooter and a third-person strategy. You can freely switch between views according to the situation. either you will strategically guide your troops and leave the elimination to the AI, or you will take matters into your own hands and eliminate the opponents more efficiently. In addition to the classic campaign, there is also a Survival Mode waiting for you. You can find the game in the App Store for €5,99.

2K Drive

A new racing game called 2K Drive, developed by the studio, has arrived in the App Store Lucid Games. A very positive and unfortunately not very common fact today is that 2K Drive does not come with the "popular" freemium model. The game was released in a universal version for both iPhone and iPad, and for a one-time price of 5,99 euros, the player can enjoy practically all aspects of it. So he is not forced to spend additional resources to buy everything possible, as is the case with Real Racing 3, for example.

In the game, you can race with many real cars and take part in more than 100 different races on more than 25 tracks. The range of cars includes Dodge, Fiat, Ford, GM, Icon, Local Motors, Mazda, McLaren, Nissan and So-Cal.

Important update

Google Drive with a new design

The official client for Google Drive has received a new version 2.0. The application underwent a complete redesign and received a flatter appearance that better fits into the new iOS 7. The icon was also redesigned, which is now displayed in white. A nice new feature is switching between two types of file list view. One option is the classic austere list of names arranged one below the other, but the option to display icons with a preview has also been added. The ability to quickly get a link to share a file is also a useful new feature. You can find Google Drive in the App Store free.

iLife for iOS

Apple has released minor updates to its iLife suite of apps for iOS - iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband. These do not bring anything new, they only improve compatibility, probably with the new operating system iOS 7. You can find all three applications in the App Store for €4,49.
