New applications

Google's new smart communication app, Allo, is out

Communication the Allo app was one of the main innovations presented at this year's Google I/O. Its main assets are the use of a phone number to send messages (there is no need to register), a graphically rich offer for working with text and images (similar to the new iMessage), group conversations and an intelligent assistant that can be communicated with in the same way as a human (Turing test but still wouldn't pass by far). Allo also offers an "Incognito Mode" that uses end-to-end encryption. Some have previously criticized the app for not having encryption active automatically and always.

Momento will enrich iMessage with a selection of GIFs created from user photos

Interesting new things are happening with iMessage as well (and thanks to iMessage apps, it probably will on a regular basis). If the user installs Momento in iMessage (in the same way as keyboards or classic applications are installed), he will be able to send moving GIF images generated from photos in the gallery of the given iOS device. Momento selects photos taken in similar situations (eg from visiting the same place at a certain time) and creates one GIF from them. These are then displayed in the live previews in the mini gallery instead of the keyboard in "Messages".
