Angry Birds still played by more than 200 million monthly users (10/10)

As we inform you above, Rovio is preparing another installment of Angry Birds and continues to enjoy the popularity and interest of users. Although it has been three years since the original game of the series was released, the interest in Angry Birds is still huge - over 200 million players play the game every month. "Every day, 20 to 30 million people play our games," Rovia Executive Vice President Andrew Stalbow revealed at the MIPCOM conference in Cannes. "Then we have up to 200 million active players every month." Since Angry Birds have been downloaded more than a billion times combined, this number might seem relatively small, but it is not. After all, Zynga, another gaming giant, has a total of 30 million monthly users on all its games (over 306 titles).

In addition, Rovia's numbers should now be boosted by the release of the Star Wars episode, which will most likely be very popular. Plus, a brand new game was released recently Bad Piggies, which Rovio is going to support significantly next year. "Next year we will focus on expanding Bad Piggies," added Stalbow.

Apple removes Foxconn suicide games from App Store (12/10)

The game In a Permanent Save State did not warm up in the App Store for very long. This title from Chinese developers was supposed to depict the afterlife of seven workers who committed suicide at the Foxconn factory in 2010. The game referred to a real tragic event involving Apple, and therefore the Californian company quietly removed it from the App Store catalog. It's possible that the takedown was based on a violation of the "questionable content" guidelines, specifically targeting a specific race, culture, real government or corporation, or other real entity. Apple has not commented on the event.

Rovio has released a Bad Piggies cookbook

It seems that even games are too small for the developers of Angry Birds, so they have released a brand new app - Bad Piggies Best Egg Recipes, which focuses on the egg delicacies that the green pigs love so much. The cookbook is of course interactive with various surprises and animations on each page. The cookbook contains only 41 different recipes, among which are such common dishes as hard-boiled eggs, eggs a la Benedict or egg omelette, so its strength lies rather in the fun form and theme of Angry Birds.
