The creators of World of Goo are preparing a new game - Little Inferno (11/7)

The developer studio Tomorrow Corporation, which became famous for the physics puzzle game World of Goo, is preparing a new title. It's called Little Inferno and it looks even weirder, at least from the introductory video, which doesn't say much about the game itself. The trailer only hints that the game takes place in a strange ice age where kids have to burn their old toys and souvenirs to keep warm. That alone sounds pretty special, so we can only look forward to/fear what Tomorrow Corporation has in store for us.

There is no mention of a release date yet, but it can be ordered for $14,99 alpha version of Little Inferno, which will be released for PC and Mac. The game could come to iOS a little later.

The Daily, an iPad-only newspaper, could end (12/7)

There was a lot of hype when The Daily, an iPad-only newspaper, launched. However, now it is possible that the whole project will end in a few months. News Corp., which runs The Daily, is said to be losing $30 million a year, so the question is whether it will end the entire project. According to The New York Observer, this could happen after this year's presidential elections, which are held in America in November.

When The Daily launched in 2011, the publisher said it needed 500 subscribers to make the project worthwhile. However, digital newspapers have never reached such a number, so the whole thing will probably end in financial failure.

Office 2013 for Mac won't come soon (July 18)

This week, Microsoft offered Windows 7 and Windows 8 users a so-called consumer preview of the new office suite Microsoft Office 2013. Nothing like that has appeared for Mac, and the reason is simple - in Redmond, they are not preparing Office 2013 for Mac. However, they are going to integrate SkyDrive into Office 2011. At the same time, Office 2013 offers much more news than just integrated cloud storage. However, we won't be able to enjoy most of them natively on Mac. In the new version, Microsoft added support for touch devices or Yammer, a private social network for various organizations.

"We have not announced the release of the next version of Office for Mac," a Microsoft spokesperson said, adding that Microsoft is not planning anything like that.

iOS 6 beta cannot handle more than 500 applications (July 20)

Consulting firm Mid Atlantic Consulting found that iOS 6, which is currently available in form beta version, can only accommodate 500 applications. If you install more of them, the device starts to turn on slowly, restart randomly and more problems come. The consultancy therefore pressured Apple to remove this "restriction", until it finally succeeded.

According to Mid Atlantic Consulting, an iOS device won't even start at all if you have more than a thousand apps on it. Only restore helps at that moment. Mid Atlantic claims that Cupertino knew about the matter, but at first did not want to do anything about it. Until finally, after much insistence, they gave in.

At first, Apple claimed that no one needed that many apps. But after several discussions, we convinced them that if they expect iPhone users to replace their phones, handheld gaming devices, home controllers, time planners, etc., then they need an almost unlimited number of applications.

Find My Facebook Friends renamed to Locate (20/7)

The developers of the Find My Facebook Friends application have not had it very easy in recent months. Apple and Facebook did not like the name of their application. The App Store's approval team didn't like the app's original name, "Find My Friends For Facebook," for one simple reason - Apple has its own app with a similar name, Find My Friends. Because of this, IZE was forced to change the name and icon of its application, but Facebook did not like the newly chosen "Find My Facebook Friends" for the change.

Although Facebook allows iOS developers to use the name "for Facebook" in their applications, so that it can be seen that the application is intended "for" Facebook, it does not allow the use of the name of its social network in any other form. That is why he finally agreed with IZE to change the name, the new name is the application for finding friends Locate.

Important update

Google+ finally for iPad

About a year ago, Google launched its social network and a few weeks later also launched an application for the iPhone. It recently underwent a significant change in the user environment, and now a version for the iPad has also appeared in a similar jacket. All posts are grouped into squares, which may remind some of Flipboard, for example. In addition to Apple tablet support, version 3.0 brings the ability to create hangouts with up to nine people directly from iOS and stream them via AirPlay. The third novelty is the implementation of the recently launched Events. Google+ is also the third social network on which you can find us track.

You download Google+ free in the App Store.

Twitter 4.3

Twitter has updated its official client for iOS devices, version 4.3 offers several new features. One of them is the so-called extended tweets, which means that the application can also view attached content such as images, video, etc. in the details of the post. Push notifications have also been improved - now it is possible to select only certain users for whom you want to be Twitter alerts when they publish a new tweet. The notification about what is happening in the application in the upper status bar is also handy, and there is also an updated icon that Twitter recently introduced.

Tiny Wings 2.0

One of the most downloaded games of 2011 reached its second majority version. Its developer Andreas Iliger he has been working on this update for quite a long time, as all the programming, graphics and sounds are his work. However, after many months, a free update is coming. At the same time, a new version of Tiny Wings HD for iPad appeared in the App Store. If you want to play Chubby Birds on iPad as well, it will cost you 2,39 euros, which is quite a nice price. What news can we find in the new version for iPhone and iPod touch?

  • New game mode "Flight School"

  • 4 new birds
  • Retina display support
  • night flights

Activity Stream serves as a notification center for all the activity you do in Evernote. The application records new edits or synchronizations, so you can immediately see what is happening with your documents. In addition, Evernote 3.2 also offers fixes and improvements such as more reliable synchronization, faster sharing, etc.
