Twitter comes with a very interesting and to a large extent groundbreaking news. Through an update that is expected to arrive on iPhones and the web interface later today, the company is enabling a redesigned form of quoting and commenting on tweets. Users will now be able to use the full 116 characters to comment on any tweet. This will be attached to the comment separately and will not steal characters from the comment itself.

The ability to quote a tweet and attach a comment to it is an inherent part of Twitter. Until today, however, it was greatly devalued by the fact that the original tweet and the user's nickname usually used up the character limit by themselves, and logically there was no space left for a comment. And it is precisely this deficiency that Twitter is now finally addressing.

For users of alternative Twitter clients or the official application in the version for iPad, Mac and Android, the novelty works simply in that comments created in a new way are provided with a classic link to the original tweet. Comments can thus be read regardless of which application you use to view Twitter. However, for now only users of Twitter for iPhone and the web interface can create the new type of tweet quotes with a comment.

Twitter has promised that the news will soon arrive on Android, and the positive thing is that the function will not be denied to third-party applications either. Paul Haddad, one of the developers of the popular Tweetbot, publicly praised the compatibility of the new form of the "Quote Tweet" function with third-party clients on Twitter.
