In the coming weeks, Twitter is going to launch a new feature for all its users, which will work in the web interface and in iOS applications. This is a "mute" button, thanks to which you will no longer see tweets and retweets of selected users in your timeline...

The new feature is nothing revolutionary in the world of Twitter, some third-party clients have supported similar features for a long time, but Twitter is coming with official support only now.

If you do not want to see the posts of the selected user, you can activate the function for him Mute (it has not yet been translated into Czech) and any of his tweets or retweets will be hidden from you. At the same time, you will not receive push notifications from this user. However, a "muted" user will still be able to follow, reply to, star and retweet your posts, only you won't see their activity.

Mute functions can be activated on the selected user's profile or by clicking on the menu More at the tweet. When you turn on the feature, the other user will not know about your move. However, this is nothing new, for example, Tweetbot already supported a similar function and can also "mute" keywords or hashtags.

In addition to the new feature, Twitter has also updated the iPad app, which now has the same features as before introduced a few months ago in iPhones. These are minor changes related to images and easier access to some functions. The universal Twitter client can be downloaded for free in the App Store.
