It's been no secret that Apple will hire a new addition to the marketing department this year. Already in December became known, that Tor Myhren, who has now become, will join Apple officially the company's vice president for marketing communications.

Myhren is highly recognized personality in the field of advertising and marketing industry. For example, he participated in campaigns such as E*Trade Baby, DirectTV and CoverGirl with Ellen DeGeneres. He is also no stranger to participating in various projects of high standards.

At Apple, Myhren replaces Hiroki Asai, who is retiring after eighteen years at the company and held the same position. Prior to joining Cupertino, Tor Myhren was Executive Creative Director at Gray Group.

With regard to the accumulated experience and competence, Myhren will not only take care of television and Internet advertising at Apple, but also the design of product packaging and other marketing activities of the company. The importance of his position is demonstrated by the fact that he will report directly to CEO Tim Cook.

However, Myhren is not the only significant reinforcement of Apple in recent weeks. Karen Appleton also joins Apple after seven years at Box, a business-focused online file sharing and document management company. She worked at Box as an executive specializing in cloud services and service business development, and she should focus on the corporate sphere at Apple as well.

The Californian giant is increasingly targeting large companies, as evidenced by collaborations with IBM and Cisco, for example, and industry veteran Appleton could help it develop even more in this area.
