I have been using the Facebook social network since the first time it appeared in the Czech environment. During that time, it has undergone many changes, changes in design and, above all, functions. I remember when autoplay videos first appeared on Facebook - I was quite annoyed. At the time, I was using Facebook for other purposes and found the video content quite intrusive. However, as with everything, I got used to it and now consume video more and more. In general, video is becoming more and more popular, which is why Facebook has introduced a new Video application for Apple TV.

Facebook has been announcing for a long time that it is about to enter our living rooms, onto the big TV screens. In the Facebook Video application, we primarily find clips that appear on your timeline on an iPhone, iPad or in a browser on a computer. The content that appears on Apple TV can thus be easily corrected. Just start following a new page, group or user. You can also watch recommended or live videos on TV. However, don't expect written posts or other content.

Personally, I particularly liked the method of logging in and the first launch. I downloaded the Facebook Video app for free on my Apple TV, and after installing it, I launched the app along with Facebook on my iPhone. Following the instructions, I opened the notifications section on my iPhone, where within a second, a message to sign in to the Apple TV appeared. All I had to do was confirm and I immediately saw familiar videos from my feed on the TV. The login process is really neat. I don't have to write anything anywhere and enter it manually. This is how it should work everywhere.

The application is divided into six channels: Shared by Friends, Following, Recommended for You, Top Live Videos, Saved Videos and Recently Watched. At the same time, you can easily move between channels by swiping your finger on the controller. Another advantage is that the videos always start automatically. All you have to do is run over them and if they end, the next one will start right away. In practice it is very pleasant, you just sit and watch. However, the sense of automatic launch is very readable. Facebook wants to keep us inside the app as long as possible.

I was also pleased that there are no ads in the app yet. I can also play older videos that I've added to Facebook in the past on my profile. I wondered myself what I had uploaded to the network over the years. Facebook also promises that in the future there should also be a paid section with premium content in the application. As part of it, he would like to bring, for example, sports broadcasts similar to Twitter. The app can also alert you to live videos that you can start watching immediately. There is also the possibility of liking.

You can only run Facebook Video on the latest fourth-generation Apple TV. You also need the latest tvOS operating system to run smoothly. Playback in full screen mode is also a matter of course.
