Apple today finally officially confirmed, which has been speculated for weeks. The Beats acquisition is indeed happening, and it's not just about the iconic black-and-red headphones. According to Tim Cook, the Californian company is particularly interested in the Beats Music streaming service.

Although most people only think of the well-known premium line of headphones in connection with the Beats brand, for Tim Cook this fashion accessory means only a partial part of a much larger mosaic. According to Cook, the acquisition is not only a means of improving the current position through the sale of headphones or making the brand more attractive, but a unique opportunity with long-term benefits. "Together we will be able to create a number of things that we could not do alone," said the head of Apple v conversation for the server Re / code.

The key is the exceptional relationship to music that both companies have shared for many years. "Music is an important part of our lives and our culture," writes Cook v letters employees. "We started by selling Macs to musicians, but today we also bring music to hundreds of millions of users," the head of Apple recalls the successful iTunes store, which could now be supplemented by an advanced streaming service.

He has nothing but praise for this platform. Cook even didn't hesitate to call Beats Music the first subscription service that's run exactly the way he envisioned it. He admits that Eddy Cuo's team could develop such a service on its own, but this acquisition will make Apple's entry into the world of streaming music much easier.

The founders of Beats themselves, Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre who are considered for the top of today's music industry. "At Beats, they were able to combine technology and the human factor. This acquisition brings us really exceptionally capable people, the likes of which you don't see every day," said Tim Cook.

And although it didn't seem like it at first glance, the pair of Beats bosses seem to fit well into Apple's culture. While three weeks ago, Dr. Dre spoke very civilly about the California company to an acquaintance video, today he is more restrained. The Dre-Iovine couple is getting used to the secretive nature of Apple and refuses to reveal what is hidden behind the statements about new joint projects. “In the music world, you can play your song to someone and they don't copy it. In the world of technology, you show someone your idea and they steal it from you," adds Iovine, who will soon move full-time to Apple with his colleague.
