This week, the Reuters agency published information that the management of Apple met with the representatives of the German car manufacturer BMW. Tim Cook reportedly visited the BMW headquarters last year and at the factory in Leipzig, together with other representatives of the Apple management, he was interested in the brand's futuristic-looking electric car with the designation BMW i3. The company's top man from California according to Reuters among other things, he was interested in the production process in which this carbon fiber car is created.

A magazine also wrote about the same meeting a week ago Eat, who reported that Apple is interested in the i3 car because it would like to use it as the basis for its own electric car, which it would enrich primarily with software. As the diary wrote The Wall Street Journal already in February Apple deployed hundreds of its employees on a special project that is supposedly dedicated to the electric car of the future, which could – at least partially – come directly from the workshop of Cupertino engineers.

Negotiations between the two parties according to Manger Magazine it ended in no agreement and appears to have resulted in no partnership. The current starting point is said to be that BMW wants to "discover the possibilities of developing a passenger car in its own way". For the time being, Apple's possible plan to cooperate with an established car company and thus eliminate the problems and extreme initial costs that must naturally occur with production at a company that has no experience with car production has failed.

The fact that no agreement between Apple and BMW will be concluded in the near future is also indicated by the latest changes in the management of the BMW car company. The German manufacturer has long been quite secretive and cautious about sharing information about its manufacturing processes. However, according to Reuters, the new CEO of the company, Harald Krueger, who took over the management of the car company in May, is even less open to competition. The man is strictly focused on the company's own goals and proclaims that new partnerships and potential deals will have to wait.
