In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. We focus here exclusively on the main events and selected speculations, leaving aside the various leaks. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Apple hires head of Amazon Video platform

It's no secret that Apple has recently been trying to focus primarily on its services. Only last year saw the introduction of a streaming platform called  TV+, which offers a range of original video content at a relatively low price. But as it seems, the service is not doing so well for now. Although the Californian giant is literally giving away memberships for free, when it includes a free annual membership with each product, people still prefer competing platforms and tend to overlook  TV+. Of course, Apple itself is aware of this fact. For these reasons, the service is constantly being worked on and we should expect some changes soon. According to the latest news, Apple was supposed to hire a new personality. Specifically, it is an executive from Amazon Video named James DeLorenzo, who has been focusing on the sports section at Amazon since 2016 and even became the vice president of Audible, which falls under Amazon.

Today, however, the internet is starting to fill up with information that confirms DeLorenzo's move to Apple. We could see these reports on Twitter, for example, but we have not yet received an official statement from the Cupertino company. What does Apple expect from this opportunity? As I mentioned at the very beginning,  TV+ can't quite compete with other services yet. Therefore, the Californian giant is constantly trying to expand its offer, in which James DeLorenzo could be a great help. It can be expected that this person could be behind the birth of a sports section on the apple streaming platform, which could attract a wide range of active subscribers.

Tim Cook reacts to the current crisis and talks about racism

In recent days we have witnessed a series of horrific events culminating in third degree murder. The United States of America is facing a wave of protests that have even turned into absolute chaos and looting. This is how people are reacting disproportionately to the death of George Floyd. He succumbed to his injuries when a police officer knelt on his neck for eight minutes in the city of Minneapolis. On almost all social networks, we can now see the reaction of not only people, but also companies who share a black image. Of course, Apple's top representative, CEO Tim Cook, reacted to the situation itself. If you look at now American mutation website of the Californian giant, you will find its official statement on it.

In the letter, Cook describes the current situation and strongly emphasizes that we must no longer live in fear and discrimination. The letter mainly talks about the problem of racism that has plagued America since time immemorial and emphasizes the need to move forward. Although laws have been amended throughout history, racism is still deeply rooted in the minds of the citizens themselves, which is understandably a huge problem. Apple is thus clearly on the side of good when it publicly stands up for the black and brown communities of people who face racial issues every day. A hacker obtained data from Apple's servers, but he will not go to jail

User privacy on the Internet is undoubtedly one of the most important issues these days. It is the Californian giant that directly believes in the privacy of its customers, which is proven by a number of functions and steps. Once in a while, of course, someone manages to get hold of some data. This is exactly what happened to a then 2018-year-old Australian in 22, who obtained data on individual employees and the code of a hitherto unknown firmware from Apple's servers. The main problem is that immediately after the attack, he shared the obtained data through his Twitter and Github, which made it very easy to catch him. The hacker, whose real name is Abe Crannaford, has only now seen his trial, when he was threatened with imprisonment for up to two years. However, the judge's verdict was rather mild, and Abe walked away "only" with a fine of 5 US dollars. But that's not all. In addition to the fine, Abe earned an eighteen-month suspended sentence for his actions. Therefore, if he decides to continue illegal activity, he will have to pay another 5 thousand, or it may end up even worse.
