Stanford University officially announced today that Apple CEO Tim Cook will deliver this year's commencement address on June 16. On the same university grounds, but already in 2005, Steve Jobs also gave his legendary speech.

In the aforementioned statement, Marc Tessier-Lavigne singled out Cook primarily for his efforts to talk about the challenges and responsibilities that corporations and society must face today. Cook himself considers the opportunity to speak on the grounds of the university to its students an honor: "It is an honor to be invited by Stanford University and the students to deliver the commencement address," he said, adding that Apple shares much more with the university and its students than just geography: passion, interests and creativity. It is these things, according to Cook, that help revolutionize technology and change the world. "I can't wait to join graduates, their families and friends in celebrating even brighter possibilities for the future." Cook concluded.

Tim Cook gave a speech at MIT in 2017:

But Stanford will not be the only university where Cook will visit this year. Last year, Cook spoke to students at Duke University, his alma mater. In his speech, the director of Apple urged the graduates, among other things, not to be afraid, and he also quoted his predecessor Steve Jobs. He gave his speech on the grounds of Stanford University in XNUMX, and his words are still widely quoted today.
