Last June, on the occasion of the developer conference WWDC 2020, Apple came out with an amazing announcement. This is because the idea of Apple Silicon was introduced, when Intel processors in Apple computers will be replaced by their own ARM chips. Since then, the Cupertino giant has promised a significant increase in performance, lower energy consumption and longer battery life. Then in November, when the MacBook Air, 13″ MacBook Pro and Mac mini were revealed to share the same M1 chip, a lot of people almost gasped.

The new Macs have moved miles in terms of performance. For example, even an ordinary Air, or the cheapest apple laptop, beat the 16″ MacBook Pro (2019) in performance tests, which costs more than twice as much (the basic version costs 69 crowns – editor's note). On the occasion of yesterday's Spring Loaded Keynote, we also got a redesigned 990″ iMac, whose speedy operation is again ensured by the M24 chip. Of course, Apple CEO Tim Cook also commented on the new Macs. According to him, the three November Macs make up the majority of sales of Apple computers, which the Cupertino company plans to follow up with the just-presented iMac.

Currently, the company offers four Macs with its own Apple Silicon chip. Specifically, it is the aforementioned MacBook Air, 13″ MacBook Pro, Mac mini and now also the iMac. Along with these "trampled machines", pieces with an Intel processor are still being sold. These are 13″ and 16″ MacBook Pro, 21,5″ and 27″ iMac and professional Mac Pro.
