In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

The cheaper Apple Watch should copy the design of the fourth generation

Already next week on Tuesday, the September virtual conference awaits us, around which there are still a lot of question marks. Although Apple presents its new Apple phones and watches every year in September, this year should be completely different. The deliveries for the iPhone 12 are delayed and the Californian giant has already said that we will have to wait a few more weeks for the upcoming iPhone. According to various sources, Apple will focus on the Apple Watch Series 6 and the new iPad Air on Tuesday. A lot of people are also saying that we will see a replacement for the Apple Watch 3 and thus we will see a cheaper successor.

Bloomberg magazine editor Mark Gurman also talked about the successor to the cheaper model at the beginning of this month. His words have currently been supported by recognized leaker Jon Prosser. In his post, it says that we will see a brand new model that will faithfully copy the design of the fourth generation and will be sold in 40 and 44 mm versions. But the question arises whether we can trust Prosser at all. The latest predictions were about the launch of the watch and the iPad Air, which the leaker dated for Tuesday, September 8, and believed that the launch would take place via a press release. But he made a mistake in this and at the same time met with sharp criticism.

Jon Prosser subsequently added a few interesting points. The mentioned cheaper model should lack some newer functions such as EKG or Always-on display. His mention of using an M9 chip is also confusing. It is a motion coprocessor that works with data from the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass. We could specifically find the M9 version in the iPhone 6S, the first SE model and in the fifth generation of the Apple iPad.

However, how it will turn out in the final with the virtual conference is, of course, unclear for now. We will have to wait for official information until the event itself. We will inform you immediately about all presented products and news on the day of the event.

Who will eventually take over the leadership of Apple?

Tim Cook has been at the helm of the Apple company for ten years, and the team of vice presidents consists mainly of older employees who have managed to earn Apple a huge amount of money over the years of their careers. However, a simple question arises in this direction. Who will replace these executives? And who will take the place of CEO after Tim Cook, who replaced Apple founder Steve Jobs himself in the position? Bloomberg magazine focused on the whole situation, according to which the Californian giant is increasingly focusing on a plan for a situation when individual leaders need to be replaced.

Although for now Cook has not shared any information about whether he is ready to leave the head of Apple, it can be expected that Jeff Williams could take his place. In the current situation, he holds the position of operations director and thus ensures the day-to-day and, above all, trouble-free running of the entire company. Williams is the ideal successor, because he is the same pragmatist person focused on proper functioning, which makes him very similar to the aforementioned Tim Cook.

Product marketing is currently handled by Greg Joswiak, who replaced Phil Schiller in this position. According to reports from Bloomberg magazine, Schiller was supposed to hand over a number of duties to Joswiak anyway, already in the previous few years. Although Joswiak has only officially been in his position for a month, if he were to be replaced immediately, he would reportedly be chosen from several different candidates. However, the most prominent name on the potential list should be Kaiann Drance.

We can still focus on Craig Federighi. He is the vice president for software engineering, and from our point of view, we have to admit that he is one of the most popular personalities at Apple. Federighi was able to win the favor of apple fans thanks to his first-class performance during the conferences themselves. Still only 51 years old, he is the youngest member of the management team, so it can be expected that he will remain in his role for some time. However, we can name people like Sebastien Marineau-Mes or Jon Andrews as potential successors.
