The server Hired, which specializes in jobs in the field of technology, has brought an interesting report, according to which Apple has been ranked among the most sought-after companies in the world when it comes to jobs for technology workers. In the ranking of the most sought-after technology companies, Apple ranked third out of a total of five. Google took first place, followed by Netflix. Apple was followed by LinkedIn, and Microsoft came in fifth.

A slightly different leader

However, the ranking of the most inspiring executives brought a significantly less expected result in this regard - Tim Cook is completely missing from it.

The list of the most inspiring leaders according to the website Hired is as follows:

  • Elon Musk (Tesla, SpaceX)
  • Jeff Bezos (Amazon)
  • Satya Nadella (Microsoft)
  • Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook)
  • Jack Ma (Alibaba)
  • Sheryl Sandberg (Facebook)
  • Reed Hastings (Netflix)
  • Susan Wojcicki (YouTube)
  • Marissa Mayer (Yahoo)
  • Anne Wojcicki (23andMe)

Hired compiled this ranking based on a survey of more than 3 technology workers across the United States, Great Britain, France and Canada between June and July of this year. The results of the survey should, of course, be taken with some caution - in the context of the global scale, it is a relatively small number of respondents and a limited number of countries. But it says something about how Cook is perceived in his leadership position.

In contrast, Steve Jobs repeatedly appeared on lists of leaders people wanted to work with, even after his death. Nowadays, however, Apple seems to be perceived more as a whole than through a single personality. Cook is undoubtedly a great CEO, but he doesn't have the cult of personality that accompanied Steve Jobs. The question is to what extent such a cult of personality is important for the company.
