ID Software, which needs no introduction, and Bethesda, the company behind the Fallouts series, met this year at Quakecon 2010 in Dallas. For several years now, the best players have been meeting at this place to shoot together and win nice prizes.
Everything takes place on high-performance PCs, but this year, Apple users and others were not forgotten either discounted games in the Appstore, JohnCarmack from ID software presented the upcoming shooter The Rage running under iOS 4.0. As you can see in the video, Carmack surprised everyone when he pulled an iPhone 4 out of his pocket and showed how great The Rage will look on the new engine. Carmack himself said that the iPhone 4 will sweep the PSP and Nintendo DS together with their performance, and making quality games for this recently introduced device will not be a problem. The Rage demo will be released to the Appstore by the end of the year. We will have to wait for the full version until the spring of 2011. The demo will be accessible for iPhone 3G and above, which will probably affect the quality of the game. It is already clear, however, that with the arrival of the iPhone 4, the way to even more perfect games opens up for us players, and Sony or Nintendo will have to turn around again to catch up with the Apple train that has already started.
I'm curious to see the resulting game. It looks very good so far.
I just want to point out that Carmack's company name is spelled "id Software".
I would correct, Bethesda is not behind the Fallout series by mistake, but only the last part and the data discs...
It might crush the Nintendo DS and PSP in terms of performance, but the range of games? If anyone has played on the Nintendo DS, they know what I'm talking about. I just can't get used to the controls, I need the buttons :( Otherwise, the Nintendo 3DS will be released next year, which will be a very bloated machine and most of all the games on it will be in 3D, so that's it :)
and especially after the Virtual Boy pusher, there will finally be no need for glasses, seriously wondering about the 3DS :) but I wouldn't see it with the range of games so bad... as for the PSP, the only thing I would like would be God Of War, there is something on the iP , but it's not that brutal :) and so Nintendo has Mario, which is something I miss on iP. although it is Rayman, but the difference between Rayman and Mario is significant :)
