When Apple launched its Apple TV+ streaming service, it launched The Morning Show, a drama series from the morning TV landscape. It was rumored that Apple did not hesitate to invest a considerable amount of money in the star-studded series - now it turns out that the investment paid off. At first, the series was not very well received by critics, but the responses of ordinary viewers were quite positive. On Monday, the series also received several Golden Globe nominations.

Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston received nominations for best actress in the "drama" category. The series itself then earned a nomination for the best series drama. For the Golden Globe, the two main stars of the series "fight" with Olivia Colman (The Crown), Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), and Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies), the series The Morning Show competes this year with The Struggle for Power from the HBO production or perhaps The Crown.

Apple's Zack Van Amburg publicly thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the nominations. "Following the debut of Apple TV+ just last month, today's nominations are a true testament to the strength of the show at The Morning Show, as well as all of our Apple Originals," stated Jamie Erlicht, who is in charge of worldwide video production at Apple, again thanked the performers and creators, adding that he is very much looking forward to the launch of the second season of The Morning Show.

In addition to Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, The Morning Show stars, for example, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Bel Powley or even Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The series is currently running for two seasons and was the first show ever to be picked up by Apple for its streaming service in 2017. Jay Carson, Kerry Ehrin, Kristin Hahn and Jennifer Aniston herself participated in the creation of the series.
