Investor Carl Icahn, who is known for his constant advice on Apple's leadership and strategy in all sorts of areas, has published an open letter to Tim Cook. In it, among other things, he predicts that Apple will enter the TV market by launching two devices with a UHD screen and a diagonal of 55 and 65 inches. However, the newspaper opposes this prediction The Wall Street Journalwhich he claims, that Apple is not planning a TV.

The WSJ report claims that Apple has been considering entering the TV market for nearly 10 years. However, the company has not yet been able to come up with a breakthrough function or innovation that would justify such an entry into a new segment. In Cupertino, they are said to have considered, for example, integrating a camera into the television for communication via FaceTime, and various types of displays were also considered, but nothing appeared that could make Apple's television a hit.

According to the report, Apple canceled plans to develop its own TV device more than a year ago. However, the television project was not completely finished, and the members of the team that worked on it were transferred to other projects. Television from Apple is not something that we will not see with definitive validity. If they come up with something groundbreaking in Cupertino that would convince customers to buy an Apple TV, it might happen one day.

However, a special set-top box called Apple TV is a completely different song. On the contrary, Apple apparently has big plans with this, which should be revealed at the June WWDC conference. From next generation Apple TV Siri voice assistant support is expected, new controller and support for third-party applications.
