After a long hiatus, we are once again bringing you an insight into the world of visually impaired people in our magazine. With a few exceptions, we have focused on practical things that make life and work easier for the blind, but now it's finally time for fun. You can enjoy the games even in the time when more and more restrictions are coming, but what about the ones specially adapted for blind users?

Games for absolutely everyone

First, we will focus on titles that can be enjoyed by anyone, both the disabled and the average person. Unfortunately, there are not many of them, they are mostly ordinary text games. These include, for example, several sports managers, where you manage a certain team, train and buy players, take care of the facilities and play matches against other managers from around the world. As other interesting pieces, I have to highlight card or dice games, specifically I can mention a perfectly accessible mobile game Dice World. To be honest, these games are not very exciting for an action person who likes to enjoy some adrenaline. Here it is necessary to reach for other titles, which, however, you cannot play with the sighted.

Headphones or speakers are key

You can probably guess that games with perfectly designed graphics will not satisfy the blind, nor will a high-quality monitor. The more action-packed titles, both mobile and computer, consist in the fact that a blind person orients himself with the help of sound. When playing, they must wear headphones or use high-quality stereo speakers. So if there is a fight in the game, for example, it is important for the hit that the player hears the enemy exactly in the middle, the same applies to sports games, when, for example, in table tennis for the blind, the player has to hit the ball only when he hears it in the middle. For these games, it is necessary that specific sounds be significantly distinguished from each other - it is precisely in combat games that you need to recognize enemies from your army, for example.

Although there are not very many games for the blind, when it comes to individual genres, most of the visually impaired will choose. The titles can be found for Windows, Android, iOS and macOS, but in my opinion, the system from Microsoft is probably the best and most widespread platform for visually impaired players. Today we focused on games in general, but in the next installment of the Eyeless Technology series, we will discuss them in more detail. So if you are interested in playing blind, keep reading our magazine.
