In today's review, we will introduce an interesting iPhone application that allows you to easily access and communicate on Internet discussion forums.

Tapatalk serves as client for viewing and posting to discussion forums. In the main menu, the application will provide you with a list of different types of Internet forums according to their thematic focus, such as Games, Sports, Music, etc. If you are looking for a specific forum, just click on Search in the main menu and search for the forum by its name, or panel New to filter the newly supported forums in Tapatalk.

If you search for a forum, all you have to do is confirm the choice by touching it and you will be taken directly to the forum. You can sort the individual topics on the forum by category or alphabetically by name. On this screen, there are 2 essential options for the forum: registration and login.

After logging in, you can move fully in the forum. New menus Latest, Forum, Search, Messages, More will appear in the lower bar. Once you log in, the next time you use it, you will be logged in automatically, without entering a name and password.

Individual offers in more detail:

  • Latest – shows you the latest current topics. You can also choose here whether you want to show all topics or just the unread ones (this item also has a number that shows you how many unread topics you have).
  • Forum – there are individual thematic areas and two types of sorting, as I described above (sorting by category and by name)
  • Search – classic search engine.
  • Messages - the ability to read, manage and respond to private messages.
  • More - a few more menus that will give you information about your account, show the topics you've started and contribute to, as well as statistics (number of members, number of online members, etc.).

While moving on the forum you can use and do everything you are used to in the forums. You can create topics, reply, send private messages and even upload photos or images.

What can be considered a big disadvantage is the support of the Czech forums, which, at least according to my experience, is scarce. In order to be able to display the forum in Tapatalk, a special plugin must be installed on it and must be registered on the Tapatalk site. From my favorite forums, I managed to find only the Jablíčkára forum. But I certainly wouldn't dismiss the application.

Tapatalk is can be downloaded in a free version and in the paid version for €2,39. The free version is limited and is for browsing only. So you can't write posts, send private messages, and images can only be smaller in size. But it is plenty enough for testing.

But after using this app I opened a supported forum in Safari and I have to say that at this point I just realized how useful this app is. Tapatalk makes reading and navigation much easier.

záver
At first I was skeptical about using this app, but over time I started to discover its benefits. The forum loads fast. everything is perfectly optimized and clear, the menus also work in landscape mode, the text is easy to read and optimally large. As a result, there is no need to constantly zoom in and out and move around the screen.

The application as such is therefore very useful and will take the comfort of use to a completely different level, which you will easily get used to, but unfortunately for now I lack support from the Czech forums (I believe it will improve - considering that the application is multi-platform). At least I recommend trying the free version even if you it was meant to be used only on the Jablíčkář forum.
