Ever since Apple removed the classic 7mm connector from the iPhone 7 and 3,5 Plus, the company has been the target of criticism and ridicule from both users and other manufacturers. Whether or not this is a justified criticism is up to you, but other manufacturers have not left a "thread dry" on Apple in recent years. The taunts came both from Samsung and from Google, Huawei and OnePlus. Gradually, however, it becomes apparent that more and more manufacturers are going the route without an audio connector, and the question arises as to whether the mockery was really appropriate, or it was just hypocrisy.

The last novelty, to which you can no longer connect classic headphones, is the Samsung Galaxy A8s presented yesterday. The phone as such is full of interesting things, from the almost truly frameless display to the unusual circular cut-out for the front camera lens, which replaces the classic cut-out (notch) on the upper edge of the display. There are many new features and firsts for Samsung in the A8s, the most important of which is the absence of a 3,5 mm audio connector.

In the case of Samsung, this is the first smartphone model that does not have this connector. And it will certainly not be the only example. Samsung's upcoming flagships will probably still get the 3,5 mm connector, but starting next year it is expected to be dropped for the top models. The reasons are obvious, whether it's better sealing options for the phone or saving internal space for other components, Samsung will be the next manufacturer to follow in Apple's footsteps - even in the spring Apple was mocked for it:

Years ago, Google was also scoffed at, emphasizing several times that it retained the 1 mm connector for its 3,5st generation Pixel. Year after year, and the second generation of Google's flagship also no longer has it. Similarly, other manufacturers have abandoned the jack, and even OnePlus or Huawei, for example, do not include it in their phones.
