The Smart Cover for iPad is a very popular accessory for the Apple tablet, and many customers do not hide that they would like to protect their iPhones in a similar way. However, Apple did not want to create a Smart Cover for the iPhone, so a renowned manufacturer comes up with its own solution Twelve South. His name is Surface Pad.

Twelve South is known for its high-quality accessories, and the new SurfacePad for iPhone is no exception. At least from the product photos and description, this is another precise piece of accessory that will be appreciated by those who want to protect the iPhone from the back and the front.

The SurfacePad is made of quality Nappa leather, weighs less than 25 grams and is not even 1,7 millimeters wide. The iPhone with the "dressed" SurfacePad practically does not increase in size or weight, and it is also very elegant with it.

Jak writes Twelve South on their blog, "SurfacePad makes special what it's not: a military-grade rubberized cover for your iPhone." The SurfacePad really tries to be as minimalistic as possible and offers a little something extra. Similar to the iPad's Smart Cover, the SurfacePad can be used as a stand and also has a microfiber interior that both protects and cleans the iPhone's surface and display. The cover is attached to the back of the phone with a special easily removable adhesive that leaves no traces and can be used repeatedly. Twelve South already has experience with this type of attachment from other products.

The SurfacePad is available for both iPhone 5 and iPhone 4/4S in three color options – modern white, jet black and flashy red – and costs $34,99. This translates to roughly 660 crowns. For now, we have no information whether this cover will also be available at some Czech retailers, however, Twelve South also ships to the Czech Republic for $30 (560 crowns).
