Apple Distinguished Educator celebrates 25 years

Today, Apple celebrates another important milestone in its history. It is exactly 25 years since the program was launched Apple Distinguished Educator, which specializes in teaching and is intended for the needs of education. The aim of the program is to highlight the contribution of educators from the field of primary, secondary and higher education who, with the help of apple products and services, transform the experienced processes of teaching itself. To celebrate today's anniversary, Apple chose an American university educator from Tennessee Tech University, Carl Owens. He is one of more than three thousand teachers in the aforementioned program who has been actively involved in it for several years.

After a forty-year career as an educator, Owens is preparing for a well-deserved retirement. The Californian giant did not choose this teacher by chance. The professor has been relying exclusively on Apple products for many years, since 1984, when he started using a Macintosh. Owens has always promoted iPad-assisted learning. Thanks to it, he was able to show students a number of different ways, helping them to visualize problems and thus be able to teach better.

Steve Wozniak Sues YouTube: It Allowed Scammers To Use His Likeness

In the past week, the Internet has encountered a rather more serious one a problem. Hackers have taken over the Twitter and YouTube accounts of several well-known personalities for apparent profit. At the same time, everything revolved around the cryptocurrency Bitcoin, when hackers promised to double the deposit under the guise of verified accounts. In short, if you sent one bitcoin, you would instantly receive two. The attack mainly affected the mentioned social network Twitter, when several accounts were attacked. Among them were, for example, the co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, the visionary and founder of the car manufacturer Tesla or the company SpaceX Elon Musk, the co-founder of Apple Steve Wozniak and many others.

Steve Wozniak responded to the whole affair by suing YouTube. He allowed fraudsters to use his name, photos and videos in order to get money from people. When we compare the behavior of YouTube and Twitter, we can see a huge difference in handling the whole event. While Twitter took action almost immediately, freezing some accounts and immediately investigating everything, YouTube did not react in any way, even though it was known to be a scam. Woz was supposed to report the video several times and point out the problem, unfortunately he did not receive any response.

Alphabet, which owns YouTube, can defend itself in this regard under the Communications Decency Act. He says that the user and not the portal itself is responsible for the published content. But Wozniak disagrees with this and points to Twitter, which was able to act, one might say, immediately. How the whole situation will develop further is understandably unclear for the time being.

But as of today, Apple stops signing the previous version, namely iOS 13.5.1, which means that you will no longer be able to go back to it. This is a standard move by the Californian giant. In this way, Apple tries to prevent its users from using older and possibly less secure versions of operating systems.
