On September 14th, Apple introduced the world to the shape of its Apple Watch Series 7. The buzz was not only about their display, but also that the company did not tell us when its latest watch would actually be available. We only learned that it will be in the fall. In the end, it looks like we'll see it quite soon. But is it really worth the wait?

Latest information from leaker Jon Prosser says that the new generation of watches should enter pre-sale already on Friday, October 8. The sharp start of sales should then begin a week later, i.e. on October 15. The fashion house also indirectly confirmed this information Hermès, which prepares its straps for the Apple Watch. But in general, it is claimed that the new generation of Apple Watch does not bring so much news. But is that really the case, or are all the new features so beneficial that it's worth it for everyone?

Display size

Along with Series 4 came the first drastic increase in the size of the display, and of course also the body of the watch itself. This is the second time this has happened. Even if the body is only one millimeter larger, which many people can agree with, the display itself has increased by 20%. And of course compared to all models from Series 4, so even the still current Series 6 and SE (compared to Series 3 and older, it is 50% larger). So, if the display of the current Apple watch still seems small to you, this increase could convince you. Although we don't have comparison photos yet, it is clear that the difference will be visible at first glance. So it doesn't matter which generation of Apple Watch you own. The size of the display is the main thing that can convince you to buy.

Watch resistance

But the display didn't just get bigger. Apple also worked on its overall resistance. The front glass of the basic Apple Watch Series 7 is therefore claimed by the company to have the greatest resistance to cracking. The glass itself is 50% thicker than previous Series 6s, making it stronger and more durable. At the same time, its underside is flat, which is to prevent it from cracking. So if you look at your Apple Watch on your wrist and decide that you want to avoid all the cracks that are already there, then here you have a clear solution in the Series 7. It doesn't matter which generation you belong to.

This is intended for all demanding users who do not take them off their hands under any circumstances and during any activity (except for charging, of course). So it doesn't matter if you're only doing so-called "kancldiving", or digging in a flower bed, or even climbing mountains. Apart from the durable glass, the novelty will also offer dust resistance itself, according to the IP6X standard. Water resistance then remains at WR50.

New colors

Apple Watch Series 6 came with new colors like blue and (PRODUCT)RED red. Apart from them, the company still offered more typical colors - silver, gold and space gray. So, if you don't currently own one of the new color variants, maybe the captured ones have stopped entertaining you and you simply want a change. Apart from blue and (PRODUCT)RED red, the Apple Watch Series 7 will also be available in starry white, dark ink, and also in a rather unusual green. In addition to the last mentioned, these are the color variants that the iPhone 13 also offers. You can thus perfectly match your devices.

Charging

Although the size of the battery has also increased with the larger body, its stated duration is identical to previous generations (ie 18 hours). Of course, this is due to the larger display, which also takes more of its capacity. But Apple has at least improved charging, which is suitable for everyone who has a reasonably busy life and wants to recharge the highest percentage of the battery in the shortest possible time. Just 8 minutes of charging the watch is enough for you to monitor 8 hours of sleep. The included fast-charging USB-C cable can also be responsible for this, which will "push" your battery to 80% in three quarters of an hour.

Performance

Not a word was said about the performance at the keynote presentation of the new product. Most likely, it will contain an S7 chip, but in the end it will only be an S6 chip, which will have modified dimensions to fit into the architecture of the new body. So if you own the previous generation, you probably won't get any better. If you own an SE model and older, it is up to you to consider whether you will actually use the increased performance in any way.

Although it may seem that the Apple Watch Series 7 does not really bring anything new, the changes are really beneficial for everyday use. But if you don't think any of the above is something you really need to have on your wrist, then the upgrade doesn't make the slightest sense for you. Therefore, the transition can be 100% recommended only to owners of the Apple Watch Series 3 and, of course, to owners of even older generations - as far as software and health functions are concerned.
