A few days ago we wrote about the game in our gaming column Inua: A Story in Ice and Time. The Arctic adventure about the tragedy of the ship Terror told the fate of three people separated by decades. Another gaming novelty has now arrived on macOS, which chooses the white north as its backdrop. However, the game Arctico from the two developers, Claudio Norori and Antonio Vargas, differs from the mentioned story in almost everything.

Arctico is a representative of survival games. In the harsh environment of the Arctic, you will try to survive as a researcher looking for the remains of the research of your missing teacher. From your simple base, you will then race through seemingly endless plains on a dog sled and discover the mysteries of other research expeditions. You can then use the technologies found to improve the base and, with a bit of luck, maybe even establish the first arctic farms for genetically modified crops.

Although Arctico does not offer as many complex mechanics as other representatives of the genre, it makes up for it with its unique atmosphere and emphasis on straightforwardness. That way, you'll never feel lost and frustrated with the mysteries of game mechanics. However, if you still don't feel up to experiencing the arctic adventure alone, you can bring a second player with you in co-op mode.
