If you are part of the Apple ecosystem, you must have been pleased with today's presentation of a package of services called Apple One. This package offers several services from Apple at a discounted price. The absolutely perfect and unexpected news is that this package will also be available in the Czech Republic in the fall. However, since Apple News is not available in the Czech Republic, the Czech Apple One package will "only" include Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV+ and iCloud.
However, according to the latest information, the presentation of the Apple One is not very popular with the Swedish streaming service Spotify. The service's management said in a statement that Apple is again using its dominant position in the market in this case, and that unless competition authorities intervene, other developers will be at a disadvantage. According to the Swedish Spotify, the apple company is once again using its unfair practices, which puts other developers at a disadvantage. As for Apple Music, for example, Spotify has had a "problem" with this service for a long time. This problem is caused by the fact that Apple natively pre-installs the Apple Music service on its Apple devices. In terms of price, Apple Music users will be practically the same as Spotify, but they have to hand over the classic 30% share to Apple. What do you think of Spotify's opinion? Do you think he's legitimately "squealing" or is this just another meaningless dig?
In the Czech Republic, two Apple One plans will be available in the fall. The cheapest includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud at 50GB. It will be available for individuals at a price of CZK 285 per month. The more expensive plan, intended for families, will cost you CZK 385 per month. This plan offers the same as the cheaper Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade, but in the case of iCloud, 200 GB is available, so sharing with family members is a matter of course. The Apple One service looks really good, and it's true that other services and companies may find it a bit more difficult. But nothing prevents them from putting together their own package of services at a bargain price. Apple is currently solving a "case" with the game studio Epic Games regarding the game Fortnite, Spotify, quite expectedly, takes the side of Epic Games in this dispute, see about this "case" below.
It's just the same as with Epic. We want to use Apple's platform because it's great and Apple users are willing to pay for things and services, but we don't want to pay money for it.
"In this case, Apple is once again using its dominant position on the market"
And in what market do you think Apple has a dominant position? Because even in America, I think, there is nothing more than 50%
As it was already written - just like in the case of Epic.. everyone will try and will try it.. I don't know how it looks statistically globally, but in my area everyone except one who has an iPhone has Spotify :))
It reminds me of the case with Microsoft and their Windows, when they said they didn't give other browsers a chance... MS got through their fingers... here it seems quite similar
I will never understand this, the operating system and services are from Apple. Apple can do whatever they want with their system and if someone doesn't like it, bad luck. It's exactly the same as when I decide who I let into my apartment and who I don't.
At the same time, Apple does not prevent anyone from using other services, be it Spotify, Tidal, etc.
