Yesterday afternoon, all Spotify users received a new update for watchOS, from which Apple Watch users in particular can benefit. This update brings with it the long-awaited Siri support on the Apple Watch. The Spotify application was first introduced to the Apple Watch in 2018, but it had certain shortcomings – for example, the ability to stream music from the watch, offline playback and the aforementioned Siri support were missing.

The update, which bears the numerical designation 8.5.52, is now also available in the Czech Republic for download in the App Store. However, if you have automatic updates set up, it will install itself sooner or later. With Siri support, users can now type commands through their Apple Watch "Hey Siri, Play music on Spotify" or "Play [track title/artist name/genre, etc.] on Spotify". In the fall of last year, we saw a Spotify update that brought Siri support to iOS. Thanks to it, we can now play albums and playlists from Spotify on our iPhones using voice commands without any problems. In October, Siri support for Spotify was introduced not only on the iPhone, but also on the iPad, in CarPlay, or perhaps on the HomePod via AirPlay.

In the fall of last year, we got a version of the Spotify app for Apple TV. Spotify in iOS 13 has also been offering a function to support low data consumption for some time. It is also necessary to add to the previous paragraph that initially the voice commands for Spotify with Apple's voice assistant did not work as expected, but this has been fine-tuned with successive updates. As for Spotify's Siri support for the Apple Watch, it seems to be working without any problems from the very beginning - it recognizes commands perfectly from its own experience and executes them immediately.
