Apple and IBM presented their first fruits yesterday cooperation and showed how iPads and iPhones will be used in business. After this year the conclusion of agreements the two tech giants have created the first batch of enterprise tools that City, Air Canada, Sprint and Banrote will start using this week. The top ten new applications include a mix of tools for use in financial institutions, the insurance industry and even government agencies.

Among the applications you can find, for example, a product from IBM called Incident Aware. This application has the ambition to become a very useful helper for all law enforcement officers. In fact, it will allow police officers to use special maps in real time, access industrial camera recordings and call in reinforcements.

The current offer also includes two applications focused on the needs of airlines. These will allow pilots to fly more efficiently and with less fuel consumption, but will also help the flight attendants who, thanks to a special application on their phone or tablet, will be able to find out information about passengers' luggage, rebook their tickets and provide other special services. Other interesting applications are intended for business people, and the menu also includes a tool that allows you to contact technical support and get advice from a specialist via FaceTime.

“For iPhone and iPad, this is a big step in the enterprise sector. We can't wait to see what exciting new ways companies will use iOS devices,” said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of global marketing. "The world of business is now mobile, and Apple and IBM are bringing together the world's most advanced technology with the smartest data and analytics tools to help businesses transform the way they work."

IBM's Bridget van Kralingen told the magazine The Wall Street Journal, that application coding and supporting cloud solutions are primarily handled by IBM engineers. Apple experts, on the other hand, are mainly responsible for the design of applications and ensuring their easy and intuitive operation. IBM is also said to be planning to sell iOS devices with pre-installed professional software to its corporate clients.

We can expect more of the fruits of IBM and Apple's collaboration next year as the two companies aim to push iPhones and iPads across a range of industries including retail, healthcare, banking, travel, telecommunications and insurance.

To mark the release of the first wave of corporate applications, Apple launched the i special section on your website, which is devoted to the use of iOS devices in business. You can find the same page iu IBM. You can view the new applications in more detail on both pages.
