Press Release: QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading innovator in computing, networking and storage solutions, last week introduced QVR Face, a new NAS-based smart face recognition solution that integrates advanced artificial intelligence (AI) digital imaging technology. QVR Face is a NAS application that integrates RTSP streaming cameras and third-party systems via API, allowing users to easily build a cost-effective, high-performance facial recognition system for corporate offices, residential communities, research institutions, and retail stores.

QVR Face, a smart face recognition solution, features real-time video analysis of all RTSP video streams from IP cameras or recordings stored on NAS. The video analysis provided by QVR Face can then be used to configure profiles, groups and event notifications for instant facial recognition. QVR Face is ideal for automatic door entry control, attendance management and smart retail services.

“The QVR Face intelligent facial recognition system requires only one NAS device to build and does not require additional cloud computing services or additional accelerator cards,” said Jason Tsai, product manager of QNAP, adding, “QVR Face also provides a comprehensive licensing plan for flexible deployment. Video analysis and registered profiles from QVR Face are stored directly on the NAS with a data protection mechanism that ensures the privacy and security of facial recognition data.”

Third-party partners in industries such as surveillance systems, door access systems, or digital imaging systems can use facial analytics data from QVR Face (including Event, Metadata Notify, and Result functions) through an application API to automate service management , in order to ensure the safety of the premises while simultaneously creating a more flexible intelligent retail management.

The smart facial recognition solution QVR Face can be downloaded from QTS App Center. The basic plan of the application allows users to create an analysis task or purchase a license plan and expand analytics tasks to add facial recognition profiles. (Note: One profile supports up to 10 face images of the same person.) You can get more product information and view the complete QNAP NAS line on the official website.
