Today is marked by graphic editors. This afternoon we wrote about the Pixelmator Pro application for macOS she finally arrived to the Mac App Store, and interested parties can download it (after paying 1 crowns). A few hours before, however, the company Adobe, which is the main player in the photo and video editing segment, came up with a short teaser. In a short two-minute video, today they introduce a special tool that is available to all Photoshop CC users. This is an intelligent Select Subject feature that, thanks to the use of machine learning and Adobe Sensei, can cut out the desired subject from the edited image. And very precisely and quickly.

If you've ever worked with Adobe Photoshop, you've probably tried to cut an object out of one composition in order to insert it into another. Currently, there are several tools for this, such as the magnetic lasso, etc. However, Adobe has come up with a technology that will make this selection essentially instantly, and the graphic artist will not have to waste time with it.

You can watch the demo below, and if it works as well as in the video in all situations, all graphics editors will be relieved to have a major time-consuming step removed from their workflow. The company is covering its back a bit by saying that this tool will only help you, each graphic designer will have to deal with the final and detailed selection on their own. However, it's pretty clear from the video that the Select Subject function is pretty handy on its own and won't require too much extra work.

Since the function uses machine learning, it can be assumed that its effectiveness will increase with how often the user uses it. It is not yet clear when this new feature will make it to the public version of Adobe Photoshop CC. As soon as it happens, we will inform you about it.
