A few days ago we wrote about building strategy from ancient Egypt. It was based on historical fidelity and on inducing the feeling that you are taking the land of Egypt through its colorful history until its development into a huge empire by connecting Lower and Upper Egypt. Today's game Three Kingdoms: The Last Warlord looks at history in a similar way. It takes us from North Africa to the Chinese Eastern Han dynasty and the so-called Three Kingdoms period, which lasted between 220 and 280 AD. At that time, China was divided between three rival states - Zhao Wei, Shuhan, and Eastern Wu. Among the three states, you choose one at the beginning of the game and try to control the other two.

Three Kingdoms: The Last Warlord is a grand strategy that lets you take care of your cities, the proper running of trade and industry, as well as the recruitment of soldiers, the leadership of generals and the very course of battles with rival states. The developers from LongYou Game Studio emphasize the possibility of automating some elements that can become monotonous over time. So you can fully focus on the part of your country's leadership that is the most fun for you.

The combat component probably has the most complex system. You can appoint any of thirteen hundred different officers to lead troops and individual divisions. Among them, you will find both real figures from the period of the Three Kingdoms and completely fictitious soldiers. At the same time, each of them has unique abilities with which they help their subordinate soldiers in battles. In addition, to draw into history, the developers use the display of their likenesses using the style of period tapestries. The armies are divided into individual components, each of which fulfills a unique task. Their proper leadership and deployment against the enemy is thus the key to victory and to the union of the three countries into one huge empire.
