Focus Mode offers much richer customization options in newer versions of the iOS operating system. In today's article, we'll take a look at what you can customize, set up, and personalize in Focus mode in iOS, from notification badges to phone calls to sharing.

Deactivating notification badges

Focus mode in iOS offers a lot of options to disable elements that might distract you. For example, if you are distracted by the notification badges above individual application icons while working or studying, you can temporarily deactivate them automatically in Focus mode. To hide notification badges, go to Settings -> Focus on your iPhone. Tap the mode for which you want to hide notification badges, tap Options -> Desktop, and finally enable Hide notification badges.

Sharing Focus in iMessage

If you're in touch with your loved ones or friends via iMessage, you certainly don't want them to worry about you every time you don't respond to their messages for a while because Focus mode is on. However, the iOS operating system remembers these situations and offers the option to display a note in iMessage, provided that you have the Focus mode activated. To activate this notification, go to Settings -> Focus on your iPhone. Tap on the mode in which you want to see the mentioned notification, in the Options section, tap on Focus state and activate the Share focus state item here.

Determination of exemptions

If you want to select specific contacts that can contact you even when Focus mode is activated, go to Settings -> Focus on your iPhone. Tap the mode you want to set exceptions for, and tap People under Allowed notifications. Then add the selected people. In the Callers section, you can then enable repeated calls.

Hide desktop pages

If you need to focus on work or study, but you have a constant urge to pick up your iPhone, you may find it helpful to temporarily automatically hide the desktop pages, thanks to which you will not have any application icons in sight. On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Focus and tap on the mode. for which you want to enable hiding desktop pages. In the Options section, click Desktop and activate Custom Pages. Finally, select the pages you want to hide while the mode is activated.

Sharing across all devices

Have you set Focus mode on your iPhone and want it to activate on your other devices signed in to the same Apple ID at the same time? Then activating the sharing of Focus mode across devices will be the ideal solution. Activation and deactivation is a matter of a few moments. Just go to Settings -> Focus on your iPhone. Under the list of individual modes, then activate the item Share between all devices.
