The possible arrival of a new operating system called homeOS has been talked about for a long time - some even expected its introduction at some of this year's Apple Keynotes. Although this did not happen, there is more and more evidence that indicates that the implementation of homeOS is indeed in the foreseeable future. But what, according to available reports, is unfortunately not going to happen is the use of the 3nm process in the production of Apple A16 chips for future iPhone models, which should see the light of day in the course of next year.

Changes in iPhone 14

In the course of the past week, news began to appear in a number of media dealing with technology that Apple will probably have to change the chip production technology for its future iPhone 14. For this model, the apple company originally intended to apply chips made using the 3nm process. But now, according to the latest news, it looks like Apple will have to resort to the 4nm process when manufacturing chips for its next iPhones.

The reason is not the current lack of chips, but the fact that TSMC, which was supposed to be in charge of the production of chips for the future iPhone 14, is currently reportedly having problems with the mentioned 3nm production process. The news that Apple will probably resort to the 4nm process in the production of chips for its future iPhones was one of the first to be reported by the server Digitimes, who also added that future Apple A16 chips will represent progress over the previous generation despite the less advanced technology of the manufacturing process.

More evidence of the arrival of the homeOS operating system

New reports have also surfaced on the Internet this week that the homeOS operating system will most likely finally see the light of day. This time, the proof is a new job offer at Apple, in which this system is mentioned, albeit indirectly.

In the ad in which the Cupertino company is looking for new employees, it is stated that the company is looking for an experienced engineer who, in his new position, will, among other things, work with other systems engineers from Apple and will also learn "the inner workings of the watchOS, tvOS and homeOS”. It is not the first time that Apple mentions an as yet unknown operating system in an advertisement asking for new workers. The term "homeOS" appeared in one of the advertisements that Apple published this June, but it was soon replaced by the word "HomePod".
