We are only a few days away from the presentation of new versions of operating systems and other news from Apple. It stands to reason, then, that our roundup of speculation today will be entirely concerned with what Apple could possibly unveil at its developer conference this year. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg commented, for example, on the address of the future device for virtual, augmented or mixed reality. We will also talk about the possibility of new native applications appearing in the iOS 16 operating system.

Will Apple's VR headset show up at WWDC?

Every time one of Apple's conferences approaches, speculations swirl again that the long-awaited VR/AR device from Apple could finally be presented there. The possible presentation of a VR/AR headset has understandably started to be talked about in connection with this year's approaching WWDC, but this probability is very low according to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Last week, Kuo commented on his Twitter that we should not expect a headset for augmented or mixed reality until next year. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman shares a similar opinion.

Earlier this year, there were also reports of an upcoming operating system from Apple called realityOS. The name of this operating system appeared in the source code of one of the operating systems, as well as in the App Store log. But the date of the official presentation of the device for virtual, augmented or mixed reality is still in the stars.

New apps in iOS 16?

We are only a few days away from the official presentation of new operating systems from Apple. One of the most anticipated news is iOS 16, and currently you would be hard pressed to find someone among the analysts who has not commented on it yet. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, for example, said in connection with this upcoming news last week that users could also expect some "fresh new applications from Apple".

In his regular Power On newsletter, Gurman said that the iOS 16 operating system could offer even better integration options with existing native apps in addition to new native apps. Unfortunately, Gurman did not specify which new native applications these should be. According to analysts, a significant redesign in terms of design should not happen this year, but Gurman indicated that in the case of watchOS 9, we could expect more significant changes.
