With the upcoming developer conference WWDC 2021, speculations about the news that Apple should present at it are starting to multiply again. Apple's June conferences are mostly reserved for software news and new versions of Apple's operating systems, but this year there are rumors that Apple could also introduce new MacBook Pros at WWDC. In addition to future computers, today's summary will also talk about future iPhones, in connection with their displays.

Jon Prosser and the launch date of the new MacBook Pros

Practically since the beginning of this year, there have been various speculations related to the new generation of portable computers from Apple. Last week, well-known leaker Jon Prosser let it be known on Twitter that Apple should introduce new MacBook Pros at its June WWDC this year. Although Prosser did not provide any further details about the future news in the aforementioned tweet, there have already been reports that the Cupertino company is working on a 14” and 16” MacBook Pro. The new models should offer two different variants of processors, while both versions should offer eight powerful and two economical cores. As part of earlier speculations, we could also learn that the new MacBooks will once again offer wider variability in terms of ports – there is talk of a new MagSafe port, an HDMI port and an SD card slot. This year's WWDC will be held on June 7 – let's be surprised by what news it will bring.

Better displays for future iPhones

Apple, for understandable reasons, constantly tries to improve the new models of its iPhones. The latest patent suggests that the Cupertino company is working on front glasses for its iPhones and iPads, which should be noticeably thinner and more durable than previous models. As the curved display trend spreads, manufacturers of these components have to face new challenges and try new technologies. Among other things, curved glasses are characterized by being relatively thick in certain areas, which can sometimes be undesirable for various reasons. Apple has recently patented a technology that should make it possible to achieve a uniform thickness even with a curved display - you can see a drawing of the construction in the photo gallery below. The patent dates from January last year and is signed by David Pakula, Stephen Brian Lynch, Richard Hung Minh Dinh, Tang Yew Tan, and Lee Hua Tan.
