The name of the operating system for Apple VR

For a long time, there has been speculation, among other things, about the name of the operating system for the upcoming VR/AR device from Apple's workshop. The past week brought an interesting one in this direction. It appeared somewhat surprisingly in the online Microsoft Store, in which the Windows versions of Apple Music, Apple TV and an application intended to help owners of computers with the Windows operating system to manage Apple devices such as the iPhone should soon appear. A code snippet appeared on the @aaronp613 Twitter account that included the term "Reality OS" among other things.

However, according to the available information, this is probably not the current name of the mentioned operating system, because it should eventually be called xrOS. But the very mention in the code suggests that Apple is really serious about this type of device.

The arrival of Macs with OLED displays

During the past week, the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo commented on the future MacBooks on his Twitter. According to Kuo, Apple could release the first MacBook with an OLED display before the end of 2024.

At the same time, Kuo points out that the use of OLED technology for displays could allow Apple to make MacBooks thinner while simultaneously reducing the weight of laptops. Although Kuo did not mention which MacBook model will be the first to get an OLED display, according to analyst Ross Young, it should be the 13″ MacBook Air. Another Apple device that could see a change in the design of the display could be the Apple Watch. According to available information, these should be equipped with a microLED display in the future.

Face ID on the iPhone 16

Speculations about future iPhones often appear well in advance. It is therefore not surprising that there is already talk about how the iPhone 16 could look and function. The Korean server The Elec reported last week that the location of the sensors for Face ID could change in the iPhone 16. These should be located below the display, while the front camera should continue to have its place in the cutout at the top of the display. The Elec server also commented on the future iPhone 15, which will be introduced this fall. According to The Elec, all four iPhone 15 models should feature Dynamic Island, which was also previously confirmed by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
