Today's roundup of speculation will be purely in the spirit of iPads. There is quite a lot of news. Not only has new information emerged about the possible release of an iPad with an OLED display, but there is also talk of a special version of the macOS operating system for this year's iPad Pro, as well as a flexible iPad.

When will we see an iPad with an OLED display?

Although there has been speculation about iPads with OLED displays for a long time, users are still waiting in vain for them for just as long - the only step forward that Apple decided to take in this field was the introduction of miniLED panels in some iPad Pros. During the past week, well-known analyst Ross Young shed some light on the whole issue. He said on his Twitter that Apple could introduce the 2024″ and 11″ iPad Pro in the first half of 12,9, while both variants should finally be equipped with an OLED display.

macOS on iPad Pro with M2?

Not long after Apple introduced this year's iPad Pro models, an interesting report appeared on the Apple Insider website, according to which the Cupertino company is allegedly working on the development of a version of the macOS operating system that should run exclusively on this year's iPad Pro. With this step, the company wants to meet all those who complained about the absence of support for selected desktop software, which would be really desirable for these models. Leaker Majin Bu has reported that Apple is working on a "minor" version of the macOS operating system that should run on iPad Pros with the M2 chip. The software is said to be codenamed Mendocino and should see the light of day together with the macOS 14 operating system next year. This is a very interesting idea - let's be surprised if Apple actually makes it happen.

The flexible iPad in 2024

Also, the last part of our roundup of speculations today will be dedicated to iPads. This time it will be a flexible iPad. This - as well as the flexible iPhone - has been speculated for a long time, but last week these speculations gained momentum. In this context, the CNBC website stated that an iPad with a flexible display could see the light of day as early as 2024. At the same time, it referred to the analytical company CCS Insight, according to which the flexible iPad should be released even earlier than the flexible iPhone. According to CCS Insight head of research Ben Wood, it makes no sense for Apple to make a flexible iPhone right now. The latter could be too costly and risky an investment for the company, while the flexible iPad could revive the existing Apple tablet portfolio in an interesting and welcome way.
