After graduating from college, Geschke joined the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center as an employee, where he also met John Warnock. Both left Xerox in 1982 and decided to found their own company - Adobe. The first product to emerge from her workshop was the Adobe PostScript programming language. Geschke served as Adobe's chief operating officer from December 1986 to July 1994, and from April 1989 to April 2000, when he retired, and also served as president. Until January 2017, Geschke was also the chairman of Adobe's board of directors. Commenting on Geschke's passing, John Warnack said he could not imagine having a more likable and capable business partner. Charles Geschke is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy, as well as three children and seven grandchildren.

Fatal Tesla accident

It seems that despite all the awareness and education efforts, many people still think that a self-driving car is probably not necessary to drive. During the weekend, there was a fatal accident involving an autonomous Tesla electric car in Texas, USA, in which two people died - no one was sitting in the driver's seat at the time of the accident. The car crashed into a tree completely out of control and caught fire shortly after the collision. At the time of writing this article, the exact cause of the accident was not yet known, the matter is still under investigation. Rescue services, which arrived at the scene of the accident first, had to extinguish the burning car for more than four hours. Firefighters tried to contact Tesla to find out how to shut down the electric car's battery as quickly as possible, but were unsuccessful. According to preliminary findings, excessive speed and failure to handle a turn could be behind the accident. One of the deceased was sitting in the passenger seat at the time of the accident, the other was in the back seat.

Amazon cancels Lord of the Rings-themed game

Amazon Game Studios announced late last week that it was canceling its upcoming Lord of the Rings-themed online RPG. The original project was revealed in 2019 and was supposed to be a free-to-play online game for PC and game consoles. The game was supposed to take place before the main events of the book series, and the game was supposed to feature "characters and creatures that Lord of the Rings fans have never seen before". The Athlon Games studio, under the Leyou company, participated in the development of the game. But it was bought out by Tencent Holdings in December, and Amazon said it was no longer in its power to ensure the conditions for the continued development of the given title.
