Microsoft's new platform for mixed reality

One of the most important news this week is the news that Microsoft has introduced a new platform for mixed reality - called Mesh. It is, of course, compatible with the HoloLens 2 headset and allows content sharing, communication and a number of other actions through mixed reality. Among other things, the Microsoft Mesh platform is also supposed to facilitate collaboration and should find its application in the future, for example, in cooperation with the communication tool Microsoft Teams. Here, users can create their own virtual avatars and then "teleport" them to another environment, where they can present the given content to other participants. Initially, these will be avatars from the AltspaceVR social network, but in the future Microsoft wants to enable the creation of its own visually identical "holograms" that will appear and communicate in virtual space. Microsoft, according to its representatives, hopes that its Mesh platform will find application in all possible fields from architecture to medicine to computing. In the future, the Mesh platform should not only work with the mentioned HoloLens, but users could even use it to some extent on their tablets, smartphones or even computers. During the presentation of the Mesh platform, Microsoft also teamed up with Niantic, who demonstrated its use on the concept of the popular Pokémon Go game.
