One of the main events we're covering in our roundup today is the launch of Musk's SpaceX Starship rocket prototype. The flight lasted six and a half minutes and the rocket then landed successfully, however, a few minutes after landing it exploded. Today we will also talk about Google, which has pledged not to introduce replacement tracking systems for its Chrome browser. One of the other topics will be the Nintendo Switch game console - it is rumored that Nintendo should introduce its new generation with a larger OLED display this year.

Prototype Starship explosion

A prototype of Elon Musk's SpaceX Starship rocket took off in South Texas in the middle of this week. It was a test flight in which the rocket successfully rose to a height of ten kilometers, turned exactly as planned, and then successfully landed at a predetermined location. A few minutes after landing, when commentator John Insprucker still had time to praise the landing, however, there was an explosion. The entire flight lasted six minutes and 30 seconds. The causes of the explosion after landing have not yet been released. Starship is part of a rocket transport system being developed by Musk's company SpaceX for high-volume and high-capacity transport to Mars - according to Musk, this system should be able to carry more than a hundred tons of cargo or a hundred people.

Google has no plans for replacement tracking systems

Google said this weekend that it has no plans to create any new tools of this type in its Google Chrome web browser after removing its current tracking technology. Third-party cookies, which advertisers use to target their ads to specific users based on how they move around the web, should disappear from the Google Chrome browser in the foreseeable future.

Nintendo Switch with OLED display

Bloomberg reported today that Nintendo plans to unveil a new model of its popular game console Nintendo Switch later this year. The novelty should be equipped with a slightly larger Samsung OLED display. Samsung Display will begin mass production of 720-inch OLED panels with XNUMXp resolution this June, with a provisional production target of one million units per month. Already in June, the finished panels should begin to be distributed to assembly plants. The popularity of Animal Crossing games is constantly growing, and it is understandable that Nintendo does not want to be left behind in this direction. According to analysts, the new generation of Nintendo Switch could go on sale during this Christmas season. Yoshio Tamura, co-founder of DSCC, states that, among other things, OLED panels have a very favorable effect on battery consumption, offer higher contrast and faster system response - an improved game console in this way could certainly be a definite hit with users.
