There is constant improvement in many areas of the technology industry. The music streaming service Spotify, for example, is no exception, and after the promise of the soon introduction of lossless streaming, it will also expand to a number of other countries around the world. Improvements in the sense of acceleration and expansion were also promised by Musk's company Starlink, which intends to increase the speed of its Internet connection later this year. The only one that is clearly not improving is Google, or rather its gaming service, Stadia. Its users are increasingly complaining about problems with some game titles, but unfortunately there is no one to fix them.

Spotify expansion

Apparently, the operators of the popular streaming platform Spotify are not idle in the slightest, and in addition to new improvements, they are also preparing for further expansion of their service. Yesterday, on the Jablíčkára website, we informed you that Spotify will soon receive a completely new tariff that will allow users to listen to their favorite songs in a high-quality lossless format. In addition to the introduction of new functions, the long-awaited expansion to a number of other regions awaits the Spotify service in the foreseeable future. Representatives of the Spotify company announced on Tuesday that they plan to expand the scope of their music streaming platform to another eighty-five countries around the world. Along with this, the respective applications will also be localized into another thirty-six languages. The expansion will take place in a number of different countries across continents, such as Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Jamaica, the Bahamas or even Belize. After this expansion, Spotify will be available in more than 170 countries in total. The service as such is still very popular, but the company has recently seen a slight drop in its share price - by 4% on Monday and another 0,5% on Tuesday.

Errors in Google Stadia

The Stadia gaming service has been experiencing a number of different bugs and issues recently. Unfortunately, their repair will not be easy at all - there is practically no one to undertake them. Users have repeatedly complained about crashes, slowdowns and other issues with the Stadia platform, which has resulted in a partial churn of users. One of the games that players could try out on Stadia was the title Journey to the Savage Planet, which Google bought from Typhon Studios before the end of 2019. However, the game suffered from a number of annoying bugs, starting with getting stuck in the main menu and ending with crashes . When one of the users decided to contact the game's creator - 505 Games - about this problem, he got a surprising answer. The representatives of the company said that they have no way to fix the game, because all the codes and data are now owned by Google, which has cut ties with all the original developers. New titles are still being added to the offer of the Stadia game service, but players are slowly losing the desire to play, canceling their subscriptions and switching to competitors.

Internet acceleration from Starlink

Elon Musk said this week that his company Starlink is planning to significantly increase the speed of its Internet connection. The Internet speed from Starlink should reportedly double up to 300 Mb/s, and the latency should drop to roughly 20 ms. The improvement should take place later this year. Starlink recently expanded its beta testing program and began inviting interested members from the general public. The only condition for participation is a $99 deposit for the antenna and router kit. At the moment, Starlink promises testers an internet connection with a speed of 50-150 Mb/s. As for the expansion of coverage, Elon Musk said on Twitter that by the end of this year, most countries in the world should be covered, and in the course of the next year, the coverage should be further improved and its density should also gradually increase.
